Tom Stall (Viggo Mortensen) is living a happy and quiet life with his lawyer wife (Maria Bello) and their two children in the small town of Millbrook, Indiana, but one night their idyllic existence is shattered when Tom foils a vicious attempted robbery in his diner. Sensing danger, he takes action and saves his customers and friends in the self-defence killings of two-sought-after criminals.

Heralded as a hero, Tom's life is changed overnight, attracting a national media circus, which forces him into the spotlight. Uncomfortable with his newfound celebrity, Tom tries to return to the normalcy of his ordinary life only to be confronted by a mysterious and threatening man (Ed Harris) who arrives in town believing Tom is the man who's wronged him in the past. As Tom and his family fight back against this case of mistaken identity and struggle to cope with their changed reality, they are forced to confront their relationships and the divisive issues which surface as a result.

An excellent film! compared to a modern day western, nominated for 2 oscars.

Was it just me or did anyone else think they went a bit ott on the 'ladies and gentlemen" half way through the film..
Odd film!

Yes quite unusual for a thriller to have explicit sex scenes, but hey I ain't complaining

I thought that was an excellent movie, despite the explicit scenes, why, they almost ruined the film for me ;-) :-D

Really enjoyed this one! Bf instigated a few conversations about cheerleaders after this

Good, action film.

Although the part you lot are refering to didn't really have to be in the film as regards the plot/story did it?!:?

no - it was a bit random to say the least!!

haha i totally agree over the sex scenes.

you can also get this for £3- £4 from ASDA instore

Yes but they never have it in stock in the stores and it's up for £4.97 online at Asda

is this offer online only?

Original Poster

I believe this offer is only online but as I say it's free delivery and from my experience Virgin are more reliable than HMV. HMV just cancel your orders when they realise they can't honour their offers i.e. the recent LOST series 2 which I got stuffed up with :x

£3.60 for a UMD/DVD and for such a cracking film has to be HOT!

I got this for £1.97 in my local Tesco not that long ago.

Might be worth having a look around before splashing the, erm, coins.

Also worth checking out Blockbusters.
They were selling (brand new) copies of this DVD for £3, and advertising it nationwide.
