It depends what you want to use it for. Most people use phones to call and text so I think that £ for £ performance it's excellent value for money.
My friend is looking for a new phone. She likes to use WhatsApp, will she be able to with this phone. Thanks

8GB/1GB or 16GB/2GB?
I've had this phone a few months for what it does i'm happy with it, i mainly use it for web, social media, youtube/play movies spotify & deezer and as a satnav. the camera may not be the worlds greatest but it will comfortably handle having multiple apps open with out degraded performance and unlike
I’m surprised of people expectations for £49.99 phone
All I can say is it’s the best phone for the price for almost all necessary applications we all normally use these days
Thanks for sharing @tyr voted hot

8GB/1GB or 16GB/2GB?

8 GB, 1 GB RAM - 3G model
16 GB, 1 GB RAM - LTE model
will be locked ?
Due to no Oreo update being available just bare in mind the following.
Android Oreo brings several improvements over the Android Nougat software, such as faster booting time, extended battery life, more fluid experiences to phones, latest security patches via Google Play Protect that automatically checks malware inside all the applications installed on the mobile.
Is the phone this bad?

You're pretty much going to downgrade if you get this. If you look at a display model in store you'll see that your current phone has a better looking screen and camera. Next best Moto model would be the E4. Prices seem to vary wildly on them but will cost a bit more than this. Has double the RAM, better screen, fingerprint scanner and NFC however so definitely worth it!

Yes. Unlock codes are cheap and fast on eBay however.

I was thinking about buying this as a gift but the screen doesn't sound too good. Noticed the G5 is £119 which is a good price, albeit more than twice the price of the C.

The E4 is quite pricey compared to this and you have no idea what phones we already have, do you?
I dont need NFC or fingerprint . dont play games or video.I have a now unusable (long story) Moto E 2nd ed 2015 to replace which I paid about £50 at the time for. and that had rave reviews apart from the camera.
So if I wanted to stick with a Moto, and if the screen is comparable, the extra 8gb of internal app storage is a bonus.Unless
some bright spark can recommend a better & cheaper 16gb internal at a similar price and spec. Sim free or on O2
or very easily unlocked.

Don't get the G5. Have it and regret buying it. Constant screen burning/shadowing or whatever it's called issues. Bad battery life. No compass so on GPS you can't see which direction you're going in. Overall wouldn't recommend it.

i thought it was a good price til I found out it was £90 on Black Friday. It's. Not for me it's a gift. I have the G4 which is fine apart from the random ghost key problem now and again.

Relevant to many I'm sure, but I don't watch video on my phone.
but I do watch a lot on desktop. But having seen the post above mention
a "Dont buy" from Which (not knowing the details) it does make me wary.

My comment was a direct reply to another user who had stated what phone they had. I was telling them directly that to them, it would be a downgrade.

E4 will definitely cost more. But I have seen them go for as little as £20 extra, and CeX were selling grade A's for even less not too long ago.

Based on the poor screen alone I do think this phone isn't really worth the £49.99 asking price though. Definitely try a display model or look at the state of it on YouTube review videos before you commit to purchase!

Ah my bad I meant I had the G4. Yeah the G4 is terrible it's really annoyed me at how it has turned out. I wouldn't go with the G5 purely because of this experience and yeah it being £90 shows how it has decreased in price quite a lot

Yup, agree. Most people also use a few mainstream apps like WhatsAapp, Google Photos. YouTube etc. These will run perfectly on this phone, hell WhatsApp is backwards compatible with Android 2 I believe!
will this play pokemon go?
1gb ram is a bad deal because for about £10 more you can get a much quicker phone e.g. wileyfox swift £60 today ish on warehouse?... The saving vs irritation just isn't sensible imho.

It should run but I'd expect it wouldn't be too smooth or stable, and probably hammer the battery by forcing the phone to give everything it has to try and run.

It's below the system requirements, but I've seen it run on much worse hardware before!

If you're wanting it as a multimedia device then yes it will work fine for music. It even has a few audio enhancement tools built in.

If you're going to be using it much with videos as well as music the screen leaves quite a bit to be desired however

those are good examples of apps that benefit hugely from faster phones with 2gb+ ram, actually! i'm still using a 1gb motog (and other phones), and seriously, it's painful.
I have this phone. If it worked as it was supposed to it would be great. However I don't get all my text messages and the internet is very glitchy, have to frequently turn it on and off to get it working properly. Three visits to customer services and a reset later it's still not working properly. Maybe I've just been unlucky but I would not recommend buying it.
