Now, this film is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you had read Philip K. Dick's novel before, you might agree that the film did the book justice. Especially the bit about the mountain bike! Cheapest elsewhere is about £11, so this isn't a bad price.

Details: A Scanner Darkly is set in suburban Orange County, California in a future where America has lost the war on drugs. When one reluctant undercover cop is ordered to start spying on his friends, he is launched on a paranoid journey into the absurd, where identities and loyalties are impossible to decode. It is a cautionary tale of drug use based on the novel by Philip K. Dick and his own experiences. Like a graphic novel come to life, A Scanner Darkly uses live action photography overlaid with an advanced animation process (interpolated rotoscoping) to create a haunting, highly stylized vision of the future.

Why was this voted cold without any explanation? :?

I really wish that it was not possible to vote cold without explaining why :x

Strange film, not actually finished watching it yet. The styling is great, even though the story doesn't work too well.

A cold vote explantion would be nice - have you seen this film cheaper elsewhere? If so, please tell me as I want to buy it!

This post is 72% the price that it is anywhere else...!

I think some people just vote cold because they've no interest in the item or something. I voted hot as it's the best price I've seen for this (even though it's still too expensive for me at this price - I tend to only buy DVDs for £6 or less these days!)

That's one of my bugbears - I really wish people would explain why they vote cold - as emma says, it doesn't seem to be cheaper elsewhere.

No point in voting cold just because there is no interest in the item

Anyway, enough of my rant...:)

Well I added some heat to it, not plannning on buying it for the moment, but it seems like a good deal!

Well I've watched this film and whilst I do appreciate some of PKD's other short stories, this film wouldn't be a bargain at £1, therefore I vote cold.
