This as been £30 in the works for 2 years
The last two books are never coming out are they?
I just can't see the point of buying an incomplete set.

And what's more this incomplete set was only £22 just last week!

You might as well. What's there is some of the finest fantasy you will read. Well, the first three (four) books anyway. And it's unlikely to be finished unless he has help.

I would help, I would put tyrion on the iron throne
My son who is 14 wants to watch Game of Thrones, which isn't going to happen but are the books as graphic as the TV series

Well, the same things happen. But although the TV show is "18", if books got ratings, I'd probably class the books as "15".

I've read them. Tbh I think there's much better fantasy out there, but that's irrelevant. If he died without adding any more (he doesn't look too healthy) there's be a point to buying this. Otherwise, if you want a complete set you'll just have to buy another one or add non-matching single books.

What's wrong with adding non-matching single books? (assuming they are non-matching of course). Your argument seems to be don't buy into a fantasy series unless it's been finished.
Not at all, but this is buying a boxed set, primarily for display if you're already into it and have read them, before the set is finished. The publishers WILL change the cover designs for the next release - assuming he ever finishes it - and then of you want a complete set you have to buy them again. If I buy a complete set I want them matching. If they offered a box set with non -matching covers it wouldn't sell well.
