Buy your euros at Debenhams to get £5 off a minimum £20 spend on the same day is not that attractive to me unfortunately.

sorry, i guess when people go on holiday they like to buy new clothes, suitcases, make up, suncream etc and travel money, here you can get a good rate and everything else you need under one roof and get £5 back, yeah i can see why people would not like that.

I voted hot but the biggest issue I can see is the fact that people might have to travel a fair way and if you change £100 you only get 1 euro more then you would at thomas cook who are normally the best on the high street.plus a fiver off £20 spend is cheeky.

i understand, but what i dont uinderstand is why people vote cold, just dont vote if its not for you, its a good deal, you save money for those who want to. and there are always deals on here which reach 1000* but saving £1 on a deal, like £33.99 instead of £34.99 etc for an SSD drive that only a very small minority would use compared to a EURO exchange rate!!

Every time I bought currency on the high street I've haggled and got them to match the best going rate. Tesco and Asda are very good for this. Also if anyone is going the Canaries, change your money over there in the small tobacco shops, I was getting 1.26 in June when it was 1.22-1.23 here at the time.

BTW chrisgti - suncream from Debenhams? Get it from Boots at the airport, always on offer and doesn't take up your luggage allowance.

I just like to let the OP know why I have voted cold, I also like the way it brings out the sarcasm in people.

Not sure you fully understand how HUKD works, if all members use your theory then every single deal posted would be hot. How can you seriously ask people not to vote your deal cold?

Just because you think it is a good deal does not make it a good deal, the members voting decide if it is a good deal because that is my friend how HUKD works....

Here is a good website for comparing exchange rates

http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/?_ga=1.213440083.677216500.1381390193

Shows that, although not the best, it is a decent enough exchange rate. So if you are going shopping in Debenhams anyway that this may be the best deal for many people.

I'll add a bit of heat to counteract the cold voters.

Debenhams normally offer a very good exchange rate, but the offer used to be for a £5 voucher with no minimum spend, now it's £5 off a £20 spend

Unfortunately, although that is how it should work, it is rarely the case.

Yep thats it, you got it now, well done. I'll ignore your earlier comment then as a simple misunderstanding.

Can I just add that you'll always get a better rate using a 0% fee debit/credit card too, such as Halifax Clarity credit card, Norwich & Peterborough debit card (which I use abroad).

voted hot for the exchange rate alone
