Looks like delivery is £5

Might not last very long but for £10! Plus Quidco at 3.5% collect and reserve... £9.64 even better!

"you can't go wrong"

You can if you shave with it!

I'd beg to differ that "you can't go wrong". Maybe this model is fine but I've had one where the strimmer wire kept snapping and you spend 90% of the time trying to feed more wire through. It would have been quicker using nail clippers!

wow! Cheaper than their cheapest edging shears! If the cord keep snapping just use barbed wire :whistling:

Just reserved, bargain

Good deal.
Have ordered.

Talking of ways you can go wrong, In my youth i decided to put my finger in the way of the wire at full speed to see if it would hurt...it did, alot!

Just so you know, It wasnt a weird one off thing either, I used to put my hand in pretty much any fan I could find, just to see if it would chop my hand off. Sick i know, but I am over that phase now and came through it with both hands and 10 fingers in tact :-D

I bought one of these last week and it works really well for the price.

Be aware that the power cord on it is only a few metres long so you will have to buy a decent extension cable to go with it.

Had one of these a year or two back - pain to change / extend the wire, also don't think it even lasted the summer before I had to go out and buy a decent one instead, personally I wouldn't bother with one of these - if you are going to buy one - pay the extra and just remind yourself you got a £10 discount because you didn't buy this first!!!

I can't help but wonder what happened to your thumbs :whistling:

seen this on t.v

They do a simlar one in Homebase, not bad if you're strapped for cash but keep an eye out at B&Q as they often have brand ones free with certain mowers

WTF?!

Saw one in TESCO - the POWERFORCE brand (their own) for about the same price.
Have a POWERFORCE drill and sander which seem O.K. for the price and DIY applications.

These cheapo strimmers and lawn mowers are a false economy, you have to pull out the cord every minute or so unless the lawn is like a billiard table..........buy a black and decker at your local boot sale for around 2 or 3 quid.........test it while you are there for 50p.........job done............if you use a plastic cable tie (one at a time) instead of the strimmer cord they will cut thru flesh too

most of b&q's own brand stuff is actually black and decker or flymo my leaf blower had flymo stamped on it

also the green own brand stuff basically has a lifetime warranty

ive taken my pressure washer back 3 times well over 12 months old as long as it's there own brand they just replace it no receipt or questions

Wednesday is blue rinse brigade/grab a granny day in B&Q, whereby if you are/know someone over 60 (with proof of age) they will get 10% discount in most things in store.

I got one free with a lawn mower a few years back, black and decker. Was all good until I plugged it in and the only thing I could strim was the carpet as the cord was 2 metres long.

Was your pressure washer a Macallister by any chance as these come with a 3 year warranty. As for taking something back without a receipt, those days are long gone as the policy has changed. No receipt, no refund or replacement.

I'm on the negative side as well, I've bought something like this and it wouldn't trim anything more than a few blades of grass. I decided to pay a bit more for a decent one, and it works a whole load better.

That's actually against your statutory rights you don't need a receipt you need proof of purchase this could be a bank statement showing you bought it for xx price to demand a receipt is unlawful

Off topic but please do check for sleeping hedgehogs before you strim - they are currently a protected species and their numbers are crashing. Thank you

Have you tried this on a helicopter rotor blade yet? if not, you clearly must be a bit of a wimp....

Wouldn't bother with this thing, you spend more time changing the strimming cable than you do actually 'strimming' - However worth reading this all for 'PennysmakesPounds' quote
