A9 mtk2502a silver iOS/android smart watch £36.77 at EU warehouse GearBest

Been looking at these for a while, this is the cheapest I've seen them get so far.
Shows up as a higher price but if you choose the silver watch you can select EU warehouse and it goes to the cheaper price. Will be quicker delivery being from EU too!

The black one is about a quid more but will come from China so delivery will take from 3-5 weeks

The gold one is quite a bit more.

The silver one is well worth the money in my opinion and is ideal for anyone wanting to try out a smart watch without breaking the bank.
These have quite good reviews, it's one of the only cheaper smart watches where most functions will work on iOS.

I've ordered a silver one, hope it's as good as the reviews state!

Same here..... Maybe price has gone up

Still works for me, maybe it's an email thing? Failing that try the black one from China, shows up as £37.28 for me.

It's like admitting your wife is toothless, has a beard and a hump on her back.

I don't really understand smart watches.
Does your phone have to be within a certain distance to bluetooth the information or does it have a sim slot?

Was looking at a Samsung watch last night that has a sim slot but its 4 times the price of this one!

I want one that can work without being near my phone.

Does this have maps/gps?

great find op, heat added

This will need to be within Bluetooth range of your phone. If you want maps, you will need GPS and Android.
Do you really want a watch with a sim that you talk in to?

Note: iOS phones only support Bluetooth dialing, Receive SMS, Caller ID display, Sync call log function. (iOS 7.0 and above system, Bluetooth 4.0)

Whats the point!

What would you want a smart watch to do on iOS? Just interested

Are you getting £36.77 on full browser, mobile or the app? Worth a shot at that price.

Don't think there's an app for gear best

And I thought only chinese are so low in buying counterfeit stuff

I have a couple of these mediatek based smart watches, U8, DM360..

I think this one is good for the money but a few observations that might be useful to anyone new to them.

The phone side of the software is temperamental and particularly if you are like me and you need to leave your phone at your desk at work and move between floors, thus breaking the connection, it is hit or miss at reconnecting.

If it will reconnect it won’t show any notifications that you missed while it was disconnected.

Its not really designed to add more watch faces or new apps. It may be possible for some people who are interested in firmware modification but for the average user you need to be happy with what it comes with.

I think its best to think of it as a watch that happens to be a bluetooth speaker. Other aspects may or may not work so make sure you are happy enough with it on that basis.

That said I think its an attractive watch and at that price its not bad but if "smart" functionality is what you want, you will probably be happier with any android wear watch, such as the zenwatch, etc.

Good info, thanks! I knew it would be a bit temperamental & the software may be a bit buggy but like you say seems good for the money. I'll let you know if it's any good!

Odd, says £36.77 when I do it on my phone, but then jumps to £41 when I come to confirm the amount in PayPal. Seems a big jump even if there is some currency fluctuation. When I look on my PC it starts at £41.60. Not sure if this will then jump even higher if I try to check out. Anybody actually only paid £36.77 and if so how? Thanks

i can't get it to go to £36.77. I've been onto the livechat and they said if I send a screenshot they will honour that price. can you upload a screenshot at all?

I had this trouble when I ordered my phone, PayPal takes the value in dollars and uses its own exchange rate to convert to UKP regardless of how you have Gearbest set up. Apparently there's a workaround if you have a credit card which doesn't charge extortionate amounts for conversion, but I don't have one so no idea if or how that works out.

As I say, I can only get that price on my phone. I've taken a screen shot. How can I upload it? It just seems to want me to enter a URL. Am I missing something, or can I just email it to you?

Thanks for the advice. Tried again using a credit card to checkout instead of paypal and when I get to the point of entering my CC details the price has jumped to £40.60!. Not sure what's going on. My CC never normally charges me a fee for foreign use (and I'm paying in £ anyway).

In answer to your question above "Do you really want a watch with a sim tjat you can talk in to ?

I am a running leader (when I am not injured) so I wanted a watch with gps on to llan the route as we have runs with specific mileage
E.g. Short run= 3 miles
I wanted it to have aphone on (without having to carry my phone) so I can phone someone at base if an injured runner needs picking up (as we could be miles away on s long run) or I needed to phone 999 ( we have had/seen some serious incidents whilst out on runs) .

Update!
Got the watch today only 5 days for delivery! Seems to be pretty good quality too. Everything seems to work even on the iPhone even though it was advertised as some things not working. Has caller display when ringing and you can speak through it. Pedometer, heart rate measurement, remote camera. Even plays music off your phone among other things. I'd say it was well worth the money! Good if you want to try out a smart watch before taking the plunge to a £400 Apple Watch at least!

As well as caller id does it also show texts, emails and other messages on the iPhone? How good is the Heart Rate measurement? Do you use it with an app and, if so, have you noticed much change in the phones battery life? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks for any help you can give.

You're looking at the higher end garmin for anything like that, but most of the route planning is done on the computer and transferred to the watch.

I plan my routes in advance so I know the distances and if taking runners out into the wilderness would be inclined to have emergency kit with me in a small rucksack.

The other point that comes to mind is anything as small as a watch is unlikely to have a mobile receiver of the same signal strength and quality as a mobile phone. So whilst it may seem convenient it could wind up a major annoyance if you can't get coverage.

It seems to show texts in the notifications area rather than the messages part. Not sure on the heart rate but seems about right. You use an app that doesn't have good reviews called mediatek. It's just a basic connections app but works ok. I have noticed the battery doesn't last as long. Hope this helps

Cheeers Marky489. I'm trying a Microsoft band 2 at the moment and it's really nice but 3 times the price. The app and personalised web portal are excellent though as is the device itself. Decisions decisions!

Now it has arrived I am less impressed. Functions are pretty limited. Strap isn't interchangeable unlike other versions. Worst of all the Android Wear App isn't compatible with it making it fairly limited. The watch faces offered are very basic.
Theoretical 45 days no hassle return from GearBest is also very poor. They insist on it being 'returned' to China even though it was supplied from EU. All in all a bad experience and yet another reminder that virtually all my purchases from a Chinese company have been problematic. (Note to self: stick with Amazon fulfilled purchases)
