Not a bad price for a 2GB quad core box. UK plug also so should be good to go.

Might be a balls up? I've had at least a 100 device and pretty much all them do 5g, mental if like you say a new one doesn't support it!
£15 though I'd still bite at that price
No usb3 also by the looks of it. Bought anyway, can't go wrong at that price
Bought as I wanted one to load IPTV app. Must work better than the Samsung TV app, especially on Android 9.0. Worth a punt for this price I guess!
Can you record programmes on this?
Can you load the Chrome Browser on one of these?

Yes. It's like an android phone with a skin that makes it more suitable to acting as a media player, with all the phone stuff removed.
£16.02
If this ships from the states, will it have an export tax?
This one is £27 with shipping. I can't seem to see if it is worth the extra. Have heard dodgy things about Rockchip processors. I still have a Mini M8S II and it works, but think it's time to upgrade. Anyone else waiting till BF, or is today best for the Chinese market?
Ancient spec but a decent price for basic use. Obviously, it will struggle with hevc and wont play Netflix in anything except sd

A few sellers have it stated as... 5G WiFi: None

It wouldn't struggle at all, it has hardware HEVC decoding.

So? It's a very slow processor. Don't believe everything chinese specs state.
I am skeptical about the memory. I have a similar one. It doesn't struggle but... Mine (bought two years ago) came with Android 5. Can't be updated. Company has disappeared offers no update support. Online it says that updating to Android 6 is possible but hit or miss. Now even YouTube doesn't work.

Personally I would wait for an Amazon fire stick.

Yeah apart from if you have even slightly dodgy wi-fi. You have to buy an adapter to go with it and apparently there are issues with the 4K firestick.

Can you please elaborate on the fire stick. I am super interested. What issues?

That was my point, it has nothing to do with the processor, it's decoded in hardware. I have an S905 box with similar slow A53 1.3ghz cores but hardware HEVC decoding, it plays HD HEVC no problem. The CPU isn't decoding it.

It's from the Amazon comments re the Ethernet adapter. Nothing forensic.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the H96 max boxes at all please? Been looking at one but I'm fairly new to android boxes.
I'm a member of a kodi group or two, and can recommend a firestick all day long... they just work, and the 4k one is almost as quick as my fire tv ! chinesium boxes only seem to last a year or so before the software updates pack up.

Mines a 4 year old m8s with the same gpu and hevc is very choppy through both vlc and MX player
I bought the Beelink Mini MX II (2GB/16GB/S905) after reading it would get regular updates and it's had not a single one. Used Wookie build till it died, now using Xanax (formerly Durex build). Tried No Limits but it seems to freeze and crash all the time, not sure if it's just my hardware being a bit long in the tooth.

Bought boyf a cheapo unbranded W95 box (similar spec, except it's S905W) and it's had something like 4-5 Android updates (most recently, a few nights ago!) since I bought it at the beginning of the year (some apps state it is a Beelink box, even though it doesn't have a brand printed on it).

Any recommendations for a new one? Are S912 boxes best avoided?

Thanks, I'll have another look into the firesticks but just wasn't sure if you could install/run kodi on them.

delivery can take up to 8 weeks and dispatch can be 2-3 weeks so dont panic yet

I wouldnt dream of ordering from them as you get zero warranty if any product develops a fault

shouldnt even be allowed on hukd imho

They sound good , been having a look at some, is there any particular one you would recommend as seems like there is various generations etc and would you say they are fairly easy for a newby to install kodi on/use? To be honest I keep saying about kodi but not sure if there's better apps or programs to use for streaming.

There's little price difference, so I'd go for the 4k version (they work fine on non 4k tvs too)
... and yes, theres more choice than the big K lol

Okay thanks for that, think I'll wait till black friday see if there's any bargains for one. Lol that's good then that there is more choice but that's the main one iv heard people speak about. Also use mobdro on my phone which seems okay. Cheers

Not heard that. I believe that S912 is better than s905X, which is better than s905W. Not sure where S905X2 fits, but hearing recommendations for S905X3 - it may be better than S912.

Can pick up S905X3 boxes on eBay for £28 (4&32GB) or £33 (4&64GB). I am not interested in the 2&16GB.

The S905X4 is on the way in early 2020, so I read, anyway.

Yes, there are cheap boxes out there but it's about the firmware and of course, some Chinese vendors lie about what's under the hood, so I wouldn't take my chances unless there were extensive reviews.

I want 1000M Ethernet and a 4GB DDR4 RAM box (or more). I've toyed with the idea of buying a Windows box but they're usually quite a bit more expensive, and I can "drag" the screen from my PC to my TV anyway. I like having the extra Android functionality on the TV.

My router is only 100MB so those were 100MB boxes. They are 4GB though.
