To reiterate this is currently live on the Cambridge and Southend Victoria Lines, the rest of the Abellio Greater Anglia network will be introduced later this year. And in late Spring 2016 Weekly and Custom Duration Season tickets will be introduced. I will update the post accordingly :) To Note: It's also worth getting this Smartcard as SEFT (South East Flexible Ticketing) have mentioned they want to reduce rail fares in the SEFT area, which will mean people who use the Smart ticketing option will have cheaper tickets compared to those who chose to purchase Paper tickets.
I know that. That's why it's rare and not impossible.
No there isn't. Individual train companies can run promotions on their own advance tickets any time they like. Here's an example. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/now-live-30-off-many-virgin-trains-east-west-coast-advance-tickets-starts-9-feb-2388816 Voted cold on account of the OP not knowing what he's talking about.
No train companies charge a transaction fee or card fee - they're not allowed to. Only third party sellers such as Trainline, Raileasy, RSH etc can charge those fees. Most train companies offer free first class post delivery, so they have no fees at all. These include: Scotrail Northern Rail Transpennine GWR London Midland South West Trains Arriva Wales Thameslink Hull Trains Grand Central Southern South Eastern
Who else is free for all those things? Some charge for postage when there is a ticket machine at departure location, some other charge for credit cards, some charge a transaction fee. This is free for all of the above.
How is this a freebie? You still have to pay for the tickets. Lots of train companies have no fees and post tickets for free, this is not a freebie, not a deal, and not new.
Bah. I clicked on the deal because I'm in the lookout for a good deal on a Leon.
Tower of London not available until 3rd September :(
Yeah, description should be altered to reflect that you can get these 2for1 deals with any railway company. Londoners can get them too by buying a ticket between say Vauxhall and Waterloo.
It's available for anyone travelling to London by train using any service. Just print the voucher and take on the day and they may also ask to see your train ticket
I live in London so no travel involved for me.
