Not the cheapest it has been but a great price for this whisky

It's cheap compared to the usual price but it's not one of the nicer single malts IMHO. Much better IMO is the offer ASDA has on at the moment of Grant's No2 (Sherry Cask) at £13.50 for 70cl. Really lovely stuff - it knocks the spots of this stuff taste-wise! (Still I've voted 'hot' as it's still good value)

Grants isn't a single malt AFAIK.
This is a nice drop, although for another nine quid, you could get something special from Waitrose

That one is, but I wouldn't usually touch Grants - but that price and with that glowing recommendation I might give it a go.

In defence of the Aberlour - I find it quite a nice tipple. Lots of raisins and banana scents. Yum.

The Grants is deffo a blend mate.
Still not knocking this deal tho.

I'm sure I saw this deal posted last week. It goes down to £15 once a year at least but worth it for £18. I picked up the last bottle of Lagavulin 16 for £28 on Friday. Now that was a good deal!

Yes I KNOW it's a blend: but so what? Shouldn't it be about what tastes the best? The Grants sherry cask tastes a lot nicer than many single malts I've tried and certainly nearly all blends. I urge anyone to give it a try if they are in any doubt.

£16 in co-op at the moment.

This is the one single malt I've ever regretted buying. Whether it's possible to get a bad batch I don't know, but it just tasted of cut grass, and not in a pleasant way. I ended up using it as a mixer.

I think you need to pour yourself a large one and calm down my friend.

I agree: not very nice at all. And at the usual price of £26/8 it is particularly 'hard to swallow'!

Oh and 'worst of the blends'? IMO Bushmills Irish Whisky - horrible, sour chemically taste (couldn't finish it).

Few weeks back this was on at £12 at asda, couldn't believe it! Had to be a misprice.

I find this to be very pleasing on both the tongue and the nose and a good price to boot.
