Found 6th May 2013
Was in asda tonight and picked up this steam mop for £20. They also had the replacement pads for £7.98.
I asked one of the Cs and she said it should be nationwide. Only the black one is £20, there was a shelf with a large red sign saying £20.

The model is this one direct.asda.com/Abo…tml

I just used it and seems to do the job ok, obviously you need to sweep/hoover the floor really well.....time will tell if good or bad

Thanks! Nice replacement for my clone brush.

Your link shows the online price of £25 plus delivery. Is the in store price still £20?

I bought one of these online a few months ago for £20 plus delivery (from asda direct). It does a good job cleaning floor tiles, not much good at carpets though. The handle part is made up of bits that you have to slot together, which results in a weak joint half way up. If you put too much pressure on it, it looks as if it will bend and break. It's a good cheap option to try out a steam mop. When this breaks I'll definitely buy another steam mop, but will probably spend a little more for better quality and hope it'll be a longer lasting and more robust product.

Heat added.

I bought one of these a few months back.

As shepherdess said above, the build quality is absolutely appalling, but having said that for £20 it is hard to go wrong! The mop seems to make short work of any stains or spills on our laminate floor, so it isn't too bad. Not that great at anything particularly sticky though. Cheap and cheerful I'd say.

in the old days you steamed open envelopes. I guess this is the modern day equivalent for attachments in electronic mails.

keep your receipt,im on my 6th one, always breaking, good price though just terrible quality

Had one for 4 months now, use it twice a week on wooden floors. In terms of build quality, I haven't experienced any issues. I bought this to replace a more expensive 'known' brand and I prefer this as it delivers slightly less steam which is good for wooden floors as it doesn't leave them soaked and then streaky when they dry.

utter junk im afraid, broke the first time we used it, spewed water all over the floor, and the control valve snapped off in my hand, took it back the next day

That's yours. I suspect user error. Ours is fine and really happy with it.

As others have said, the steam output isn't great but for a quick polish of hard floors is pretty good.

Have one of these and it is ok, but to be honest a mop and bucket would do a better job imo.

I have only used once, but the steam mop seems quicker tbh. If you just want to clean spots quickly does a very good job and it's quicker than having to use mop, bucket, change water etc....
For £20 I gave it shot, as very cheap.....

We got one last time around. It's actually pretty good. Cleans our hard floors very quickly, without mess! Does what it says on the tin! Hot from me.

Sorry but we have had 1 for some time now, yes the build quality is poor ( what do you expect for the money?) However more importantly is the fact that it is about as much use as a chocolate teapot!!. Steam delivery is inadequate and irregular frequently just discharging hot water to the floor. Cheap yes, useful no.

Absolutely POOP! save your money even if its cheap

I agree - Not worth it. If your gonna spend the money on a steam mop go for a 5 in 1 type like the X5. I will once this one breaks down or I can pass on to someone else.

There must be a bad batch of these because I have one and its great. OK its not made that well and could easily break if your too tough with it but for the price its value for money. Saves me time and is kind on my back. If I had to pick a bad point it would be the length of the cord.
