These are not safe (unless they are actually anti-snap) and can be broken very easily.

they should be safe as long as they don't protrude the handle thus eliminating anyone getting a grip on the cylinder and as the door handle should be screwed on from the inside it would be difficult to remove that aswell

Not worth the risk in my opinion.

I found it cheaper to buy a new lock than to get new keys cut, one screw, so takes minutes to change.

check out youtube of how these are broken in 15secs - Yorkshire police

This is not the case, they break them by screwing a screw straight down the barrel, then using a claw hammer to snap it. It always snaps at weakest point, which is where the lock screws in from the side(unless you have anti snap ones), so the door can then just be opened with handle.

Let's be totally honest, if someone wants to get in to your house that much, they will go through the window!!!!!!!!

True but getting in this way with cheap insecure locks makes it easy for a would be thief to break in through say a back door quickly and easily. For a bit more you could get bump proof and anti snap.

these locks are useless the handles are easy to break aswell all you need is a pair of malgrips. I have 16 years experience in upvc fitting

Great price. Probably not recommended for a front or back door but I had lost key situation for a summerhouse previously & it was so easy to get a new lock barrel & keys in the post. Easy diy job. Imagine what a locksmith would have charged?!

"takes minutes to change" - Unless the 'professional' who fitted the original decided to secure the screw with superglue or something similar.

Given that this particular lock is a 10/30, I would guess it's probably for an internal door.

Having been a victim of one break in and another attempted one, I would now only fit anti-snap locks, where the key goes in horizontally.

Our original lock was snapped easily although it did not protrude and the first anti-snap replacement looked like a traditional lock with a vertical keyhole, so another scumbag tried his luck and broke the lock but didn't get in. Still cost plenty to replace.

Was advised to make sure our next lock looked like it meant business as it would deter burglars who go for easy pickings. This deal is penny wise and pound foolish IMHO.

Can you give an example of a secure setup please? I need to replace the handle on a door so wouldn't mind changing the lock to a better one while I'm at it

Even the abs dimple locks are easily gotten into with the right tools but are far better than the normal ones.

solidor locks are the new up and coming but abs are 1 of the top atm. if someone wants to get in they will

Is THIS any good? Not abs but anti drill etc and much cheaper than abs I could find

any suggestions for decent unsnappable/unbumpable locks?

Had my ABS lock drilled a few months ago. Turns out the thieves used a regular drill bit and drill they'd picked up from Argos- Police said I'm not the first person with this lock that has had it drilled and they actually believe I may have been targeted because I had what is believed to be a high security lock. Contacted Avocet about how their undrinkable lock was about the be easily drilled, but they don't want to know!

didn't you neighbors notice some one drilling the lock

Argos huh.. That's a very very random thing for the police to ask them? Since they were caught I presume you are taking them to court?

Just out of curiosity, I bought a few of the £1.33 locks from this deal and they are absolutely awful for two rather crucial reasons:

1. All of the locks came with exactly the same keys!

2. All of the pins inside the locks are exactly the same length (all of the dips in the keys are the same height). This means all of the locks can be picked with any straight object really easily. And I mean really easily - I managed to unlock it in less than two seconds without using a key.

Appalling, and yet ABUS gives them a 4/10 security level.
