Shudda made it auto. Be more desirable.

Maybe they should have also considered using silver, gold or even platinum as the base metal for the case?

Similar but cheaper, these Slazenger Retro Quartz Watches (but I can't get over the Slazenger-Sports Direct connection, though these watches have no affiliation with Sports Direct). Discussed at length on Watchuseek (introduced by ObiWonWD40).

More up-to-date discussion about them here
(ObiWonWD40 says the movements in these are Miyota GM15 and Seiko VD75)

Different colours/straps from £7.99 to £9.99 (Mens') ebay.co.uk/itm…258
£9.99 (this listing says Womens') ebay.co.uk/itm…385
37029470-i5u80.jpgPlenty on ebay under "Slazenger Retro". I like this Blue one (apparently this one is 32mm/Ladies).37029470-KoVdr.jpg

Not more desirable for the target market, which is people who want a cheap watch that just works, irrespective of if they leave it off their wrist for 2 days or not.
I have the gold version of this and gets lots of attention on a leather strap. Amazing bang for buck as a work watch.

Agreed I leave Tudors and CWs at home when I want to throw something like this on. Buy it you will not regret!

I like this too, I think simple sometimes is best (but then not everybody has dodgy eyes like me). Some of the Citizen Skyhawks, even though they look awesome, must be a PITA to tell the time with.
Oh, boswelox, I did previously look on the tictocwatches website for this (unless my search terms were rubbish - I think I just looked for "Clerkenwell") and it's £28.99 there: tictocwatches.co.uk/men…973

(was distracted by the Bowie programme earlier )

I can see a bit of chatter suggesting that Accurist *had* an issue where some watches had Stainless Steel backs but base metal cases, which obviously don't age well and go "green" (eek - the only Accurist I have is 9ct Gold and it's pretty old now). Apparently H Samuel would accuse the wearer of not keeping their watch clean (this is all news to me). This Clerkenwell 1946 is supposedly all Stainless Steel.

I have to say, this is a really cool looking watch
Nice retro look. The NATO always gives me DW shivers, but the muted colours make it look very retro preppy, regatta-style colours.
Psst - I was going to add this last night but realised the third-party seller (Flying Fashion) isn't allowed on HUKD...Wenger watches are around £44-odd (with postage and will be less with a currency-friendly card) on Amazon US. Was a bit cheaper last night, actually.

Although this has Expired tonight, seems there's one left on the tictocwatches' ebay page, so I'd assume that's all they have left (obviously cheaper to buy from their website now the ebay 10% off code isn't Live any more).
