Seems like a good deal for a 22" monitor with DVI. Today Only price is £112.69, otherwise £119.57 which still seems good value.

Find via the 'today only' section for the cheaper price - listed under monitors (obviously)

These are VGA only, they have no DVI. So it depends if you use VGA or DVI (DVI is better).
So the 22" is a better spec.

This is cheaper from DABS - dabs.com/pro…tml
£113.67 delivered.

More to it than DVI/VGA

Acer X233HB 23" Excel Series (Tesco/Amazon) £124 at Tesco Direct with TDX-HCTC (Collect from store)
Contrast Ratio 40000:1
Max Resolution 1920 x 1080

Acer V223WBbd 22" Value Series (Scan)
Contrast Ratio: 10000: 1
Max Resolution 1680x1050

Both very good buys!

This is an odd size, 1680 x 1050 (16:10) whereas the Tesco/Amazon one is 1920 x 1080 (16:9) which is full HD so great if you want to watch movies on your PC.

I want one to use for PC and Xbox 360 so whilst DVI would be nice the pixel ratio on this one isn't suitable for the Xbox. Tesco's here I come!

No, 1680x1050 is the standard size for a 22", the other one is the odd size as it's 16:9 rather than the usual widescreen monitor format of 16:10.

Well ignore those contrast ratios, they're completely meaningless.

No, it's normal and has been for many years with monitors around the 20 - 22" mark.

NO 16:9 is true original widescreen 16:10 will give you the smallest bars on top and bottom when watching 16:9 video, i don't know why they ever decided 16:10 but thankfully these days monitors are true 16:9 widescreen.

its now £111.54! not on today only page!

true but I dont think theres any argument, consumers do watch video and people want true widescreen monitors otherwise they would not be making them now. It's not like you cant use a 16:9 monitor to do everything else.

Just as it's not like you can't use a non-16:9 monitor to watch 16:9 material. You just get some letterboxing.

16:10 was made so you can view two A4 pages side by side when word processing, it is also very handy for certain types of photo editing and design work, depends how much large scale video you are actually watching, thankfully we now have a lot more choice when choosing a monitor!

Well actually a lot of games only support a 16:10 , but then some older ones only support a 4:3 res. Some older graphics card drivers also can't do the resolution properly. Both of these issue are becoming less of a problem now though.
