Really have no idea what the quality of the picture is like, But it does seem to tick all the boxes being ips, And having 2 HDMI sockets. And it does look a bit nice as well.

Judging by the customer reviews, the display quality is pretty good!

Good deal

Not much of a fan of the stand myself.

Apparently it comes with a 2 year warranty.

I have my suspicions this isn't totally zero frameless, my super sight can see a frame around the edge

I wish they wouldn't use these silly marketing names, it's like my AOC monitor that is frameless except it's very clearly got a black border all around, just like this monitor.

Semi pedant grumble aside, this is a half decent monitor, cue someone saying the resolution is too low but for those that don't have 20/20 vision the 1920x1080 on a 27" is ok

Maybe a good price now but did go for £150 back In march for quite a while.

Voted cold because i dislike the Acer brand.

You don't really understand the concept of this site do you?

This is hot because it's a good price for what it is, you shouldn't vote cold because you don't like the brand, with no experience of the product or of the previous prices.

1920x1080 no point. should be 2560x1440

Apart from anything else, there has to be something fundamentally wrong with someone that doesn't like the acer brand. He probably doesn't like tea either. Weirdo

Yeah I guess we are getting a bit jaded by the kind of resolution 5" smartphone are now getting (full hd)

But this is a IPS panel so heat is deserved.

£8 more for the new model

Not bad, but I just bought an x-star dp2710 27" korean monitor. Doesn't look as great, but its 1440p for the same price!!
Overclockable to 120hz and Wall mountable.

Worth doing some research before diving for this one.

Excellent monitor, been using this for over a year now excellent picture , and it is frameless but but there is a border around (in the panel itself) but the display area is full 27"

That would be before import duty etc, if he didn't get hit with it then it wouldn't have cost any more.

Good luck with that one.....

I only got charged £16 for the import fees on my 1440p Qnix. check out the overclockers qnix/xstar thread.

Acer had a poor reputation in the industry during the mid to late 2000's for churning out some really bad quality stuff, especially laptops.

Whether they have improved enough to mean their products are much better these days, I don't know.

I guess it's down to ones own experience with any brand. We have an acer gaming laptop with 18 inch screen, it's about 6 years old and my mrs still plays warcraft on it and it's still pretty smooth for it's age.

Seems a rather expensive for an IPS 1920x1080 monitor of unknown quality.

crossover perfect pixel owner here. its been 18 months and still going as new

X-STAR DP2710 LED 27" QHD 2560x1440 Samsung PLS Panel

Haven't been hit by any import tax or such as yet. reading around online and sellers feedback, no extra amount has been charged.

buuuuut i could be wrong.

still, its a good monitor for the price. have a look at the shimian & qnix korean monitors. there are loads of videos online and a huge community of people buying these A- LG/Samsung panels. only downsides are the poor stand design, cheap look/feel and only dual link DVI connection. no hdmi.

Maybe an unfortunate experience with Acer has put them off? I'd never buy another Acer laptop again. I bought one for my wife and over 2 years of careful use (we have no kids roughing it up), the case fell to bits, with screws shearing around the screen/lid hinge. The battery was goosed in 6 months too.

As I said, it's down to ones own experience with a brand. For every person that doesn't like acer there's one that does.

6ms response, useless for gaming then.
