Just picked one up, decent price for 27 inch monitor in FHD. Has speakers built-in and generally positive reviews on the net. Price seems mixed online, ebuyer also stocking at same price. Others charging up to £200.

According to the Amazon listing for the same item, yes. But don't shoot the messenger.

All FreeSync compatible monitors have DP.

Hot, even for 1080p because it's freesync.

Is it the GF7 or the GF6?

The text underneath on the Argos page says GF6 (and the image above from Amazon also says GF6)

Is there such a thing as the GF7? Acer's website only lists the GF6:

That's incorrect, there are several Freesync over HDMI models that don't have displayport, such as the Dell S2418HN.

Assuming this is the GF276 then it has DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA, although Acer's website doesn't specify whether Freesync works over HDMI or DisplayPort.

Bought it yesterday - yes it has displayport. Taking it back though - too big a brightness difference between top and bottom of screen for me - and fuzzy text at bottom of screen. Could just have been unlucky I suppose.

Can anyone tell me if this will be suitable. I want to connect to my laptop when at home for work purposes but also play some Xbox. Is this good enough or is it worth getting an IPS panel?

Can anyone tell me which is better this monitor or TV for the kitchen, only for streaming purposes via a firestick??

I bought this the other day for use with my PS4. Looks really good. Only downside is lack of internal speakers so you may need a hdmi splitter or headset for sound.

If it's just for watching videos I would recommend a tv over this as an ips display or an oled one offers much more accurate colours.

Looks like argos have the spec wrong then as they say it has internal speakers, no one else says it does so I guess argos have it wrong again, no shock there.

Opened it tonight. It has built in speakers.

just bought this today, it does have built in speakers, but they are rubbish, it has display port, I'm very impressed with the screen and enjoying pubg on it this evening

None anywhere near to me unfortunately! Or for Home Delivery!

Who actually uses the speakers fitted in monitors though? No one. They should not include speakers on monitors unless they are high quality beasts - otherwise it is just a waste of time and money.

Surely you want some decent size speakers for playing your music and games.

to big for such low res... wouldn't recommend.

I got this from Argos. Didn’t realise this as a new post! It’s great with my PS4. I use a hdmi audio splitter to link to my speakers and subwoofer.
Probably going to wall mount it! Line out audio would have been nice but I guess it’s ideally for a low spec gaming PC where the pc has audio out.

Every panel that has a deal going is either TN, or 1080p at over 24 inches!

That's entirely dependant on viewing distance and will vary from desk to desk.

What a stupid comment. You realise there are people with 50" 720p and 1080p TVs that will display an image plenty clear, yet this 24" monitor is not high res enough. LOL

Didn't realise this was such a hot deal - bought one last week and never thought to post it here.

Works great on my Xbox One. Not bothered about speakers as I use earphones plugged into the controller. It has "game modes" for auto adjusting the settings depending on which type of game you're playing, which saved fussing about with contrast etc.

Overall which which has the better picture quality and performance. Acer gf27 or Samsung C24F390 24 Inch LED Curved Monitor. It's currently price at £129.99 in argos.

As far as I know acer monitor has old TN panel and Samsung one has LED VS panel.

Why are there never any deals on g-sync monitors? A 27" 1440p g-sync monitor always seems to be the wrong side of £500 whenever I check...

G-sync monitors require specific Nvidia hardware, while Adaptive Sync/'Freesync' is part of the DisplayPort standard so it's being implemented in standard monitor electronics.

And you sit 1 foot Way from your 50"? Must look good

Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels - too low for the screen size.

1920 x 1080 is superb for 27" screen.
Most 27" tv's are 720p.
@ 1080p, my asus 24" ips monitor is so densely detailed I regret not buying bigger.
; I didnt because of price.
Anybody thinks 27" too big for 1080p must be licking donkey balls and wearing a pointy hat in the corner..

Freesync is FREE, Dude.
It is even being added to new televisions at no cost for future playstation tech, and A.M.D. gpu's, of course.

If you sit about half a meter away it will look fine. I think half a meter is a pretty common distance, unless you sit with your face an inch from the screen

Not necessarily, my Freesync monitor still costs £80 than the non freesync model.

Well. That's the bad idea to compare TV vs Monitor. TV is on some distance from you. I'm pretty sure you don't watch TV in half a meter.
Try 720p quality on 53" TV. And then compare that with 4K on the same TV. Trust me, even blind will see the difference.
My 24" monitor is 1080p and I think it's just the right resolution for it's size. As for me that 27" must have 2560x1440 and trust me that's a way better then 1080, I've compared.
But for anybody blind - yes, 1080p on 27" is a perfect resolution.

Ordered. Bought for my son. - Doesn't have to be fancy - just has to be better than the ancient 19" Dell 4:3 monitor he's been using for gaming.

Perhaps mine is faulty the. Did you have to do anything or did they just work. I thought it was strange it had volume control but no speakers.
