Looks decent for the price, but these have been superseded by the new i5 models which ought to be considerably faster.

(Model # 3820TG, 4820TG, 5820TG)

Yes but the 4820TG is priced at £899, thats almost double the price for definitely not double the performance.

Seems a HOT price for this model

Yes there is always a newer faster model - also more expensive.

I haven't checked all the examples you give; but the 3820TG is £770 or more - plus it doesn't have the low power i5 um processor so maybe isn't really comprable to this deal?

The processor is a Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) processor, which means great battery life but very slow performance.
I would not advise anyone to spend this amount on a laptop with that speed processor unless long battery life is their main priority.

Would hardly say very slow. You can watch a 720p vid and have photoshop running at the same time with relative ease on one of these... think most of you voting cold are missing the fact its a 14" screen, laptops with smaller screens tend to be more expensive than the regular 15.4" screens

looks ok,
Acer are fitting the i3 and i5 cpus too these now some should be bargains on these older models, they still want £599 for the cheapest i3 version,,if you can make do with on board graphics and a 250 GB hard drive this ones £70 cheaper and the rest of the spec looks similar.

That looks a good price. The difference is in the graphics card; an HD 4330 won't play many games but check the reviews - it might be worth the extra money.

It's a pity most people who (like me) don't want 11 hour battery life seem to be voting this cold because of the price and weedy processor...

Yeah people are looking at the CPU and prices and think "I can get an 1-3 for that price".. yes you can but I bet it wont be as light, think and have as long battery life. Each to their own I suppose.
