don't think this had been posted yet haven't seen it on here recently when looking for a 4k monitor
IPS too. I'm impressed. Heat added.

Update: can't find any reviews aside from a 2 star one on Amazon.
Just looking on Amazon and there is one review giving 2/5 ☆ saying it is poor quality.

However I've not seen a 4k screen for such a low cost, heat given.

think this is a justifiable upgrade from a 1080p ips 23.6 aoc monitor ?

I have that monitor. got it for £200 on black Friday. this is a very good deal and it's an awesome monitor
I have the Acer K242HQ 23.6" 4K. It's amazing. IPS makes a huge difference over tn for Games, pictures, movies and web browsing. With Windows 10 is really easy to scale font sizes and makes everything look crystal clear. This also gives you the option to run 4k, 2k and 1080p games depending on the pc spec and 4k games look amazing. (but I can't comment on the quality of this exact model) If your looking at pure gaming you should probably save for a gync/freesync monitor. But for occasional gaming, photography and webbrowsing it's amazing.
Insane price these will all be gone in afew hours no doubt.
Hi, is this any good for gaming? Either via gaming pc (4k) or PS4 (full hd)
Original Poster
should be fine for both I use a 23.6" 1080 so even if you had the 4k monitor running 1080p it should look the same I think due to 1 1080p pixel being the same size as 4 4k pixels ?
Prosumer monitor? Shouldn't have clicked hot.
Amazing price
These guys have worse customer service than Comet. They're on my boycott list.

I've had nothing but good experiences with using scan and have used them for years.
Very impressive price!

Only thing I'd be want to know personally is the input lag as some 4K monitors are a bit poor. Unfortunately I can't find any reviews for this one.
wow hot. my graphics card 750ti won't play 4k and cannot get netflix 4k without getting an amazon fire box so wouldn't do much for me. but hot nonetheless! at this price seems like 2 of this would be awesome for gaming. dread to think how much you need to spend on graphics card and psu though!

I have a 4K monitor and I still mostly game at 1080p. 1080p does actually look slightly worse (blurrier) on my 4K monitor than it did on the same size 1080p monitor it replaced. It wasn't a huge deal for me but it was noticeable.
60hz should be fine for 4k gaming , unless your going for dual GTX 1080 card set up , as it will be a push to get to 4k gaming at 60FPS on your average pc users pc set up.

I would of grabbed one of these , but I am so use to my 27 inch 1080 IPS screen , going back to 23.8 would make quite a difference....
Fingers crossed for a similar 27 inch deal IPS 4k !!

You would not want two, then your view right in front would be bezel. Three needed for surround gaming. And if you wanted to max out games on three of these, two nVidia 1080s and an 850W PSU would be fine.

Can you not get netflix 4k on your PC? The 750ti has displayport I think so you should be able to run this screen, and a few older games on your card.

Why do you still game at 1080p? I find most of the time games look better at 4k with other settings reduced.
With windows 8.1 and 10 scaling is generally fine - I use a 15" 4k laptop connected up to a 40" 4k monitor and only issues with a few programs, most are fine.

4k is 'nice' on smaller monitors, but for me really comes into it's own on bigger ones just for fitting more onto the screen.

I bought one wasn't going to but almost twice as much for a 27".

I have a GTX 960 so for most modern games I can only run 4K at the very lowest settings which can look rubbish.

I can run Rocket League at 4K with reduced settings and it looks great but Dirt Rally at 4K on low settings looks awful so I prefer to play 1080p at high settings.

I receive mine tomorrow, so I'll update then. but I imagine it'll have expired by then
In my opinion 4k is over hyped, its hard to run games on with over 60 fps, streaming anything in 4k will use a lot of bandwidth and there isn't a whole lot of stuff to watch that is filmed in 4k.
anyone knows a similar deal for a larger screen?

prime day is 12/7/16. there is a TN 4k 28" aoc panel for £275ish currently maybe that will drop to 250 ?
you need binoculars to see the text and they are also restricted to a bad screen monitor quality in terms of picture quality. Get a quality large vestel for a little more, they are very good to use as monitor with a great crystal clear quality picture .

Hi. I'm sure it does have a display port. But I didn't think Netflix allowed 4k streaming on PC? Anyone know differently? I recently upgraded my Netflix to 4k package as my dad bought a 4k TV... hmmmmm
I just googled Netflix 4k displayport. No comments it can work. This is from official Netflix site. No mention of PCs. Apart from authorised TVs:

The following devices support Ultra HD streaming when paired with an Ultra HD TV via HDMI Port 1:
•Air 7410X (Waoo! in Denmark)
•Amazon Fire TV (New Version)
•British Telecom - BT DTRT-4000
•Dish Hopper 3
•Nvidia Shield
•Orange Livebox Play 4
•Roku 4
•Sagem 4K (Totalplay in Mexico)
•TiVo Bolt
•Fetch Mighty
•More devices coming soon!

In my opinion 4k is over hyped

I would disagree 4k looks amazing and it is like a future investment. (4k for tv's is overhyped agreed) Games like csgo dota2 and tf2 run +160fps on a my gtx 770. Bl2 I only get 20fps but the difference in detail is remarkable and when I upgrade my gpu I won't need to buy a new monitor. If your a competitive or hardcore gamer I would suggest saving for gsync/ freesync or waiting for 120hz support. I also agree with neroneuk that better colours>more pixels, however pc monitor with IPS has pretty good colours especially compared to any tn panel. + It even improves webbrowsing and word processing experiences.
Great price but I own a 32-inch 4K monitor and it's still not big enough to get the best out of the resolution and Windows scaling looks awful. If any one can recommend a low lag, cheap 40-inch 4K UHD TV, I'll be all over it.

What version of windows are you using?

40" is pushing the limits for 4k to my mind - my ideal would be a 50" 5k monitor.

Does depend how close you sit, but having been spoilt by 4k in 15" and 28", even a decent 1080p 24" starts to look a bit blocky.

Windows 10. Apps that support scaling are fine(ish). Apps that don't look blurry and horrible.
Damn, I just bought an Asus VX24AH 1440p monitor on Amazon for £190 yesterday. Should I return it and but this instead?
The only app I use regularly that I have trouble with is Remote Desktop.

It actually includes a zoom factor in Windows 10, but never seems to work as it should.

Ended up changing the display settings on the server I connect to the most.

It's ok on the 28" monitors and fine on the 40", but pretty silly on the laptop's 15" (and if the laptop's being used alone, I'm probably trying to fix a problem quickly at the side of the road or something!)
