This is a deal I found when looking for a new laptop.

*UPDATE*
The price WAS £459 bu they changed it and its now £449.99 when you enter the Promo code 6400 (just above the item listing after you've clicked Buy Online) the price goes down to £422.99

Phenomenal specs for the price. Comet doesn't specifically state the version of windows (32bit or 64bit) or the HDD speed but everywhere else that sells the same laptop states its 64bit and 5400rpm.

As far as I can tell the same laptop is on DABS (http://www.dabs.com/products/acer-as7741g-core-i3-3gb-320gb-17-3--dvd-sm-w7hp-64-760R.html) for £668.56

I saw this the other day and I was going to post it but I always feel a bit uncomfortable posting deals on here these days.

I found the 7741G elsewhere for a slightly lower price, otherwise I definitely would have gone with this for myself.

If you use code 6400 then this works out at £422.99 before Quidco.

Hi Spark, I'm considering this laptop - didn't go for the recent 15" acer on the tech furb deal as a 17" screen is important.

Where did you get it slightly cheaper?

Ebay auction.

I have updated the OP to the new price. I hope anyone interested in this laptop gets it at this price because I bought mine yesterday and I'm gutted I didn't get it this cheap... it's only £10 or so different but hey every penny counts!

It ended reasonably late on Monday night so I staked out the auction and won it by 1p at the last minute.

Ended up costing me just under £415.00 delivered after Quidco, brand new. Seems pretty much equal to this one though spec wise only with 4GB RAM and a little fancier in build. I think 7741BR is the same as this only with a BDROM drive but I have absolutely no interest in playing Bluray on my laptop at the moment.

You're welcome.

Just as my laptop gets the BSOD this deal comes along. It could be a sign. Hope I can find the money somewhere.
