One from the Currys sale here, which includes a free six month trial of Spotify Premium (for new Premium users only) and a fairly decent discount on the laptop too.

The processor isn't going to blow minds, but for browsing the internet and studying it'll work just fine — be good for new students actually. For basic computing and social media, plus six months of Spotify Premium for free, this is a good price.

It comes in black or a rather cheeky red version.

The AMD A6-9220e is a pretty feeble CPU at this price point.

I did mention it isn’t very powerful.
The ram in this is fixed, but does this model have a free RAM slot? Seems like some of the Aspire 3's do not.
Was looking this laptop just need a basic laptop for office programs nothing fancy. Don’t want emmc as I know there rubbish.

But also also see this dell for £229 which is better? Or anything else on the market?

Terrible CPU. I know, it's cheap, but it really is terrible.

Here's a cheap option. Pentium, 13.3inch, "as new" runs Office no problem with emmc BUT spend £20 on a SATA m.2 SSD and fit under service hatch (and boot Windows from that.) £90 if bought tonight (includes £10 discount). Bargain.

think you're better off looking for something second-hand than get this.

Sounds a good deal - your link is OOS, but I found this fir £89.59 (no discount code required). I don't know about the seller though - 'Barmy Bargains' sounds a bit odd to me. One question - where did you find the reference to the service hatch for the m.2 slot?

One Linux issue I have read about is finding a compatable trackpad driver.

I've bought from Barmy Bargains. Their descriptions are accurate. Not sure where all these GEO Books came from - perhaps Curry's returns (which they're reselling for over £200). Bit surprised that none of the sellers mention the m.2 slot which makes these (the Pentium versions anyway) very usable with Windows10.
Not many left... and best to combine with an Ebay 10%/20% code... but none around at present.

Thanks. I've just worked out I could run from USB to check for a Linux trackpad driver, and return the unit if no luck. Cheers!

emmc aint necesaarily bad .. I have a foresee 64Gb emmc and it performs fine .. about 20% slower than avaerage SSD ..
Would have add tho , that really is one Carp CPU, ... in the states this price gets you a very capable ryzen apu notebook .. might even be the successor to this one.
If the £/$ was better .....
much nicer

Which LINUX Distro did you decide to go for in the end?, lol, or ... thanx.

It'd be Ubuntu, but I haven't bought anything related to this discussion yet.
