I can only hope the build quality of Acer laptops have improved, because an i5 laptop I purchased in 2012 lasted less than 3 years before it disintegrated.
Great deal

I agree, this is a good deal with great specs for the price. But, I've had two Acers in the past and the screen failed on both of them.

Reviews and other sites say it's 1366 x 768.
Can anyone confirm?

Just seen this in the description "Crisp, true-to-life colors come alive in Full HD1 1080p resolution."

I guess what clears that up

Any chance Black Friday will serve up something similar or better? After something for the wife for general MS office applications and web browsing that doesn’t make hard work of things
Anyone know if this will play basic games? Need something for my 8 year old. He wont be playing anything new, and certainly wont be that bothered about turning some settings down!

Was looking on spending a bit more(£600) or so however this may do!
That's lots of laptop for a price. ..
My budget is £375. I’ve managed to narrow my choice down to this Acer one or this Hp one. It’s alao on eBay from Tesco and same price but has 1TB and a dvd disk drive. ebay.co.uk/itm…515
could anybody advise mewhich one is of better performance & value for money please?
It’s for my 14 year old. He needs it for school and playing sims 4. We will also have office installed.

low build quality, just spend a bit more and buy a different brand in my opinion.

has 1TB disk

Always get a SSD. If you needs loads of storage space either use an external disk drive OR re-purpose a laptop's DVD drive (if it has one) to hold a standard disk.

Also, save yourself £65 £35 and get this one (black or red) - fine for a 14 year old...

Saving would be £35 not £65 from what I'm seeing. And you're only getting 4GB memory instead of 8GB and a slower processor. For me, the OP is the better option, well worth the extra £35!

Yes, the cheaper Acer has just gone up £30! So I think the Acer with i5 and 8GB RAM is better value
(though its not FHD acer.com/dat…tml )

Bought - thanks OP !
Tempted but the 128gb sounds like would fill up pretty soon post windows and office being on there.
