Some people just want a big screen and aren't fussed so much about the GPU.
Some of you on here are obsessed with GPUs but note that most just don't care.

Nice all round spec there. Seems like they could have fit a GTX 1050 in a 17.3” chassis though, suppose something has to give at that price though.
Exciting photograph to illustrate the supposed 'power' of the MX150.
Don't get me wrong, it's decent for a laptop but hardly representative.
Nice enough machine but I've never been convinced by low powered GPU when you have the space of a 17" chassis.

I'd be tempted to get the Aspire 7 for £30 more:

The 7300HQ offers the same performance as the 8250U (apart from power consumption / battery life) and it comes with a 1050 GPU.

Following the link 699 for the 17" so 100 more. But cheers for the comparison, useful info!

I don't see much benefit of a 17" laptop though unless it has a 4K screen and a mega powered CPU/GPU. 15.6" is big enough IMO for a (largely) desktop based laptop 2.2kg+ laptop.
Yeah for this price, having a 17inch chassis, and only an MX150, doesn't really add up
Surely you could do better
It's not necessarily bad for the price, but if you're going to £600 and you're fine with a big laptop, you may as well just look for one that has a GTX 1050

You're right, the LG IPS display used on this it's very good quality and has very high brightness (364 cd/m²).

Are laptops dying out?
The display resolution of this machine for a 17.3" laptop is terrible in my opinion...

I used to have a 17" Dell XPS gaming laptop, the screen was very good at 1080p. Now, I would expect 2K at least.
However, I would swap 2K screen for 1080p, more RAM & higher refresh rate.
Has this expired? Voucher code DEAL is not working for me.
