Any big limitations to this laptop?

Some reviews here: digitweek.com/ace…9l/

pcworld.com/art…tml

One review says battery life is average the other one says its decent. If your worried about the display this has decent brightness for this price according to one review :

DisplayThe 15.6-inch full-HD display looks pretty similar to the screens we’ve seen on other Aspire 5 models, and that’s a good thing. The screen is reasonably bright for a budget laptop, measuring about 260 nits (or candelas) according to our readings. Sure, we’ve seen laptops with displays in the 300-and-up range, but they’ll generally cost you (many) hundreds more

Review 1
PROS
  • Solid productivity performance for the price
  • Very good battery life
  • A better-than-budget display
  • Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
  • Sleek design
CONS
  • So-so build quality
  • Display bezels are not small enough

Review 2
Pros
  • Bargain price tag
  • Solid productivity performance
  • Slim and relatively light design

Cons
  • Middling battery life
  • Cramped solid-state drive
  • No USB-C ports
Hope this helps

Know the ram needs an upgrade but that's a small thing.

Battery I imagine, still tempting tho
Think it might have a backlit keyboard which is a nice bonus

For this price I doubt that's a huge issue

Seems a good deal, I was looking for a smaller screen though so may give it a miss.

Nothing near me anyway
If this were the Ryzen 5 model it would be super hard to resist...

Nothing near me either. Suspect this will be a bit of a goose chase... but nothing that special so the search continues.
I have the Ryzen 5 version. Paid 550 for it - retail price as I needed it quickly. Had some issues with it shutting down instead of sleeping, but managed to get it working properly, not sure what fixed it though. Only issue I can think of is that it doesn't charge over USB unlike some other laptops. Backlit keyboard is nice and screen is bright.
Not a techie in any sense and never bought a laptop. Does this come with Microsoft or do you have to purchase it? Only want to use excel and word and complete some on line courses? Any advice is appreciated

Just follow this guide on how to upgrade RAM for the Ryzen 5 version, they have the same chassis.

This is the 16GB RAM kit. amazon.co.uk/Cru…-21

This should be £299. Currys markup as usual.
This and the other recent deals are clearly their middling meh low-mid tier laptops they’re trying to get rid of before next gen pops in.
This is not the sku people should buy unless needs are basic, but I would choose this before any HP or Lenovo at the same pri
Ryzen 5 model needs to come back in stock at £349.
It would be easier if they ****ing said where it’s located rather than have us typing in postcodes!
Can you post the direct link I can’t find this on their site
