I spent quite a while trying to find a similar spec to this and ended up buying a lenovo 520s

Happy with that machine so I'd expect this to perform the same. Heat.

(Personally I'd still choose the lenovo for £80 more to get 14" size, backlite keyboard and finger print reader)

I call bs until I see some receipts.
Is there an "in" joke on these threads. Someone seems to always come back with "cold you can get a gaming laptop for x*. If you're if the market for a general laptop and don't game why would you buy a bigger, bulkier, usually uglier, noisy gaming laptop who's battery typically drains quicker. Don't get it.

Don't mind him. Can't get such a gaming laptop for less than 1K.

How easy is it to open the case / replace memory or HD in the Lenovo? Thanks

It's an almost certainty that whatever deal you post, someone has a better deal, imaginary or otherwise. Sometimes they're true megadeals but mostly they're either drempt up, a one off price error or just plain grade A bull plop.

Not done it but there's clips on YouTube. There's no hatches so the whole bottom needs to come off. Don't think it's a big issue though.

The max mem on the 520s is stated as 8gb but crucial list a 16gb sim for it that supposed to work. Again, not tried it.
