Been looking around at the laptop deals today and most seem to only have 720p screens. This is a pretty good price for 1080p and an SSD.

  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit
  • Intel® Core™ i3-6006U processor Dual-core 2 GHz
  • 39.6 cm (15.6") Full HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9
  • 8 GB, DDR4 SDRAM
  • 128 GB SSD
  • Intel® HD Graphics 520 with Shared Memory

Price 399.99, minus £34.99 TCB (10.5% ex VAT)

Why do these manufacturers do it, put a 128gb drive in ffs??? The cost difference is neglible to go to a 240gb especially if you're buying bulk, crazy!

Anyway nice find with a good resolution screen.

The E5 series has both an M2 socket and sata so you can have both, it could be possible this one does too, worth a look

Pretty good - getting close to last Christmas' £300 for FHD with i3 and SSD. Acer build quality is a bit grim though. Hot.

This one at ebuyer a better option ??

Extra £50 before cashback but has i5-7200 and 256gb SSD

Sorry buddy - you need to amend the price as cashback through TCB/ quidco isn't guaranteed.

Also you are taking a hit on the processor - 6th gen vs 7th in most deals. I'd personally look for a decent processor and screen as I can't upgrade these and then an SSD / RAM can be factored in as they are relatively cheaper to change.

One thing which people don't look at (and I'm surprised) is the laptop battery life which can vary so much. But then I actually use my laptop when commuting so do need it.

Aaaarggh last day of deals to buy my daughter a laptop but so hard to choose. This has no memory card reader which is a shame but the.other one I have seen is hdd not ssd but has bigger memory.

Any ideas the best thing to go for, for an 11 year old? She does a lot of research and wants to play minecraft, roblox and uses youtube needs to be under 400

If it does go through then that is a great deal - still good enough without the cashback though. Thanks for the find.

I'm slightly confused about the SD card slot, specs say no but pics show it has one.

A much better balanced machine for most people. The i5 vs i3 doesn't matter too much, though the HP's i5 is a higher grade CPU and a generation newer, but the extra SSD storage space is going to be genuinely useful to lots of people.

128GB is fine as a boot drive, but it's very limiting as your only on-board storage.

Was thinking of getting this.
Or maybe this for £349- currys.co.uk/gbu…tml
Still full HD, Better processor, worse RAM (4gb, which is not upgradable), replaceable 1tb hdd.

I just seem to keep going around in circles !

What do people think?

Probably true, but I found this deal after setting myself the brief of finding a good budget laptop that isn't an HP (which was a lot harder than I thought). I'm personally sick of HP's update support, the last two I've owned have been killed by not matching driver & firmware updates with major Windows updates.

do you recommed this or dell insprion 300 from dell for 359 with code

Right I'm gonna take the plunge and order this and swallow the fact I thought I could get a decent laptop for under £250 haha foooooll!!!!

Dell is only 720p, which I think is unacceptable in 2017

OK, can't decide between this and the HP 15. The HP has a touch screen, but it has only 4GB RAM. But is an A10 or an i3 6006 better for non-gaming use?

ok, after a lot of umming and arrring, I've pulled the trigger on this. Quidco at 11%.

This an i5 7th generation for same price. Now all you need to do is say no to each and every "extra" they offer you. Bought one on Saturday and they wanted to set it up for £40. Believe me when I say 5 clicks and 2 minutes is all it takes.

I did too and my cashback tracked straight away £36.67 ... fingers crossed they pay out!
