Looks good but OOS near me
4500U and IPS screen, great deal. OP you might want to mention the 4500U processor in the title.

Ordered. Thanks.

Yep, does look like good screen, but OOS for me as well. My current Aspire 5 is starting to show it's age and looking at Ryzen laptops.

It's got a fingerprint reader as well, no mention of a backlit keyboard in tech specs but in the photos it looks like it does.

oh nice did not see that it offers 1 TB at acer direct even hotter
Alrighty, I was waiting on a decent HP omen deal september time, however the sensible side of me thinks I don't need to spend a grand on laptop, so I was just wondering if the more IT savy ukhds could tell me, is the graphics card any good? Is the Ram expandable? Do I need to expand the ram? Generally want to use it for emails, Internet, bit of autocad, possibly some gaming and a little video editing of go pro videos.

Would this be suitable and if not any suggestions as to what sort of level of spec I should be looking at?

Much love to whomever replies

apart from the ryzen 5 being 4500U and not 3500U and a bit more SSD, why is this a good buy, than say the Honor or Huawei

The graphics in this will only suffice for the lowest settings at 1080P, it'll be probably 2/3 of the performance of a PS4/Xbone game. RAM is fine for gaming and internet, lite video editing is on the table although anything too heavy will want 16GB of RAM.

it sucks, one of the memory sticks is soldered and apparently memory runs in single channel mode!

Most laptops these days have memory soldered onto the motherboard to be fair.

Because 4500u, big step up
StevenRogers05/08/2020 21:18

How does this compare to this https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8440710

The one in your message has a dedicated GPU and will run games much better, it will play modern titles on medium settings @1080p/60fps. This 4500U one isn't really a gaming laptop.

There is Ryzen 7 for 599 at Argos (argos.co.uk/pro…798). Good luck finding one in stock
