yes far from the best lappy but a good starter laptop for kids & oldies alike & if you can get staff discount works out at just under £270.
i bought a decent spec lappy last year & its never been pushed more that online poker, i might as well have bought something like this

The Celeron T3000 is very capable. It is based on Penryn core 3M core, and subsequently it is dual core. If the CPU was named Core 2 Duo T3000, would you have made the same comment? After all, it is a Core 2 processor. This is how nomenclature can affect people's perceptions of a product.

Hey am I completely off here or is the t3000 not a dual core?

Curse my opening-of-many-tabs-then-taking-so-long-to-get-through-them-that-someone-else-answers-my-question-in-between-my-refreshs!

The processor is decent and is dual core. the important this is that it has 1MB L2 Cache. This would out perform many of the AMD processors which have only 512KB L2 Cache.

As yasirk cited, it is a dual core processor as it is essentually a Core 2 Duo but branded Celeron for marketing reasons.

Between the 2 Acer machines on offer at Tesco this one and hotukdeals.com/dea…544

That's why they should have ditched the "celeron" brand totally IMO

No, this is deliberate from Intel. It's purely for marketing purposes. How many higher end Core 2 Duos would they sell if the Celeron T3000 CPU was named Core 2 Duo T3000?
