Just seen this in an email I received from Dabs. My brother is looking for a laptop for around this price & I'm not sure if I should recommend this to him or not!

Heat added but I'd appreciate any opinion/alternatives.

(hope you don't think I'm hijacking your thread harmony999!).

I have been looking at getting a laptop for around the £400 mark but most of the offers in the sales have been for Vista Home rather than Windows 7 (64 bit), which along with a reasonable Dual Core processor, 4GB RAM and 500GB hard drive seemed a pretty good deal. A lot of people seem to dislike Acer however from my own personal experience I have purchased 2 Acer laptops previously and neither has caused any major problems, and any issues were easily resolved by resetting to the factory condition which is really easy through Acer Management. Given that the previous 2 were for my daughters, I would like to get one for myself and I'm really tempted by this one.

looks like a netbook processor dropped into a otherwise well spec'd laptop:?
