Actually it depends, it's slower than some but faster than a lot of the older Core2Duo cpu's.

Check ]here for a list of cpu's in (approximate) speed order. If you search for only notebook processors then you should find this one at a reasonable 71st place, much higher than a lot of Core2Duo's.

The toshiba at JL has smaller (320Gb) HDD and 2 GB ram; but does have a 2year warranty and despite the small RAM has 64bit Windows 7 installed.

If you want to make yourself feel better (like I did) use notebookcheck with the "show only notebook CPUs" filter on ]http//ww…tml
Then we can pretend desktops don't exist and our shiny laptops have fast processors ;-)

Absolutely, I was merely correcting the previous post about Core2Duo's being faster. Personally i've not voted either way on this one. I got a t4300 with 250GB hdd Asus for the same money 9 months ago, so don't really see this as being that great a deal. If I was in the market now i'd be hoping to get an i3 powered machine for this sort of money.
