Avast is also popular for anti-virus. Re. backing up windows, have you just got a new laptop? If so you'll have one or more of the following options :-
1. recovery DVD
2. recovery (hidden) partition on your hard disk
3. if you don't have 1. then the manufacturer will have provided instructions on how to make a backup DVD(s)

Coo. Quicker than my i5-540m. Shame let down by the integarted graphics, but this doesn't look bad at all.

Not sure what max memory is as this model isn't on Acer's site - "special" dixons model i guess.

not very knowledgable when it comes to these things but im thinking this is a better deal than the tesco one is that right

the second gen i3 is as good at if not slightly better than the first gen i5

Cancelled a previous order with Dixon's over 6 weeks ago before it was delivered. Still waiting to be refunded!!!
Might try and talk them into giving me this instead plus a discount for holding onto my money.

Different specs for the same model such as 0.3 or 1.3mp web cams or no web cam. Also 320gb, 500gb or 640gb hdd. 4gb or 6gb of memory. Top spec is 1.3mp web cam, 640gb hdd and 6gb memory for £499.

if you want an extra 2gb of ram and 180gb of hardrive for an extra£45 this may be an option

£342 quidco deducted. I'd say thats pretty hot, its got everything bar blue ray and dedicated graphics, but lets face it for this kind of money you was never going to get any of them, its even got usb 3!

I've ordered too.

Been looking for an i3, with HDMI, 4Gb RAM, webcam and reasonable sized HD.

Cheapest I got prior to this was a Lenovo, which was £60 (before quidco).

Quidco has tracked for me, @ 6% of £300 (ie £400, less the 10% voucher code = £360, then less VAT = £300. So 6% of £300 = £18ish.) Better than a kick in the teeth

It was a fantastic price though.

I might wait another 2 weeks before getting a core i3 laptop, as the sandy bridge M cpus are just beginning to appear, so prices should settle fairly quickly.

If only i needed a laptop this looks just what i would of wanted.
