I have checked and this doesn't seem to be written on here but it is a cracking deal for the specification. I know it won't be there for Christmas nevertheless you can get it delivered for boxing day. Pentium Core 2 Duo 1.83, 2GB Ram 250GB HDD and a dedicated Nvidia graphics card, this lacks nothing.

£352 including delivery
VAT back (albeit in terms of credit for site) = £52
Quidco at 7.5% = £26
Plus free bottle of Wine!

B-B-B-Bargain

You shouldnt be using Quidco in your final price , or the credit for the other site.
It is better to seperate the 2 out in your title

i dont understnad :-(

how do you get your VAT back?

otherwise this is a cracking deal!!

Great find! Good specs at a bargain price. Thanks and Merry Christmas. :-)

Goos specs but unreliable. Masses of refurbs on the Acer notebooks. I had four different breakdowns in a row. Never again. BTW, all new acers are incompatible with windows XP and Linux. I wonder what they will do when Windows 7 hits the market.

great bargin heat added

Smashed - Sorry I haven't really posted before and in order to see what a cracking price it can be I published both in the title.

ohh thanks,

i see.. Mmm yeh VAT back.... but credited to your account only so not really a VAT back... but I guess with 52 quid, I can easily buy more stuffs and sell on ebay? lol.. heat and still a bragain.. and 7.5% quidco is nice too...

Skgwho -
Good deal BUT this really really isn't 273.99 - just think about it - it is incorrect and misleading.
You should amend the title to 351.99 plus 15% voucher plus quidco. - Scoob

Have had 3 Acers and never had any problems - touch wood.

How does Acer make all their new laptops incompatible with XP and Linux?

I use laptops for business on the road and found if you try and give Acers a moderate (not hard for sure) business life in use every day they are unreliable. Easily scratch, paint rubs off, hinges crack, power supplies fail, querky drivers, failed components...may have been unlucky but I've had about 4 models (including a lower level Travelmate) and an issue every time. I was tempted to pay extra and get an upmarket 6 series Travelmate but opted for a bargain Lenovo built Thinkpad instead and no regrets.

hinges crack

Would have to agree, I'm using a Travelmate 2410 at the moment, nothing special but only paid about about £260 for it a couple of years ago as a spare, but only been using it for about 18 months,Well one hing is snapped right off with only the screen cables holding that side on and the other hing is all snapped but is just about hanging in there, but it's going the same as the other side so I know it's only got about 3-4 week left in it, when it will only be any good converted to a digital frame.

Funny thing is, I bought it as a spare because it come up cheap, and one hing was snapped and the other hing was on it's last legs on my Gericom Laptop(Dose one make the other),So I'm gonna pay a bit extra this time and get a proper Laptop this time,But still a good price.

Looks great for the money, still not sure the VAt back will work out though:thumbsup:

Isn't quidco 4% on Tech stuff.

I think that you're a bit mistaken there. I've just XP'd my fathers new Acer 5735 laptop and it's working fine;-)

Disagree...used drivermagician to get all drivers then wiped an Acer desktop Model: M3600 and installed windows xp sp3 on it. changed soundcard for creative and it all works.

I'm sure NOT ALL new Acers don't work with Linux..........sure I have read about them being used duel boot with linux/Vista.

Has anyone received any further communications regarding this deal?

I placed an order on December 24th and now notice that the graphics specification on their website has changed to X3100 integrated?

I have been advised during a telephone call to Cdiscount that they cannot tell what specification I will receive and to check the details when the laptop arrives and if necessary call them back to return the item and have a full refund.

Anyone else who has placed an order would be wise to check and post back here if they are given any useful information.

You are not alone. Having the same issue here on a similar laptop slightly different specs.
