Much better deal here:

amazon.co.uk/Ace…8-2

Same laptop, same price, better specs, including a blu-ray drive.

Amazon show the laptop at £449.99

The list in endless, I've owned a Acer laptop and it started to overhead within months, hard drive failed, cracked hinges and plastic cracking on lid, problems with sound, most of all Acer has the worse after sales service known to man, their premium repair line is a joke, once you get through your kept on the line for ages before they accept that it's faulty, mine went back 5 times, they changed my screen for no reason, installed incorrect motherboard with wrong GFX memory.

If your thinking about buying An acer notebook for xmas, my advice is DON'T, i hate Acer branded products now with passion, they advertise on a mass scale and offer cheap priced laptops for what seems like a good price, but what you are getting is a very poor quality made product with cheap parts and what might aswell be zero customer backup.

Buy one if you wan't but you have been warned.

I have had an Acer laptop for over 2 and 1/2 years and it is still works fine.
I have had to reformat a couple of times and it has been used as a desktop replacement.
You always hear the bad stories never the good ones.
I am on the lookout for a 17" lappy now so keeping my eyes peeled for a bargain here on hotdeals.
You never know I might go crazy and get another ACER.

agreed, my acer laptop hs been going strong for 3 years now, can't fault it

wouldn't have an acer even if i was given one for free

I've had 2 Acers with no problems. Seem like good laptops to me.

I feel bad for you blackster. You shouldn't bought it in the first place if you're not confident with ACER or maybe read some reviews and feedbacks. I have an acer monitor, laptop and PC more than 2 years old (bought separately) and they are all working fine and never had a problem. Bought the Aspire 6920G from a high street store for my sister, good specs and performance. If I have the money to buy for another laptop, I'll buy Acer. I can say they are good and reliable products. I would highly recommend them.

Goes to show that if i paid clear notice to people who have had problems with a acer notebook then i wouldn't of bought one.

I aint saying the deal is cold or hot for that matter as I haven't voted, but all i want to do is make people aware of the problems i had (and there are more people on the forum who think the same as me)

I didn't pay £400 for my acer, i paid £1400 for a top spec travelmate and would fully understand all the problems i had if i had paid around £300-400.

Voted cold from me. Same product is cheaper elsewhere and a better spec of the same model 5920G is available for the same (or cheaper) price inc Blu-ray player at amazon and simplyacer (or at a similar price at ebuyer (for example))
