dead link, what store are you referring to?

You have to be careful here with comparisons. There are several variations of the 5920G with considerable price differences. Do a search on this model with Amazon and you will see a couple of variations, although one 'looks' to be the same as above at £430.

If it's the AS5920G-6A4G25Bi then it does - see:

Looks like the Amazon one is the AS5920G-6A4G25Mi without the Blu-ray drive.

No it doesn't, you can't buy a 5920g with a blu ray drive for anywhere NEAR £367! Besides which, the link given was a dead link - didn't go anywhere.

Weird - link works for me.

Alternatively go to acer.co.uk then click on "home/private users" link then click on "Notebooks" link then click on "Aspire 5920" link. If you click on the link to "AS5920G-6A4G25Bi" you will see that particular model has a blu-ray drive - as I said.

I did not say that the model originally linked to was confirmed as being that particular model nor did I say whether it was likely. I merely stated that if the model was a AS5920G-6A4G25Bi then it would have a blu-ray drive.

EDIT - looking into it a bit more, the claimed part number LX.AKV0X.798 does not appear to be a UK model at all so God only knows what it is!
As you say, it seems unlikely that it is the AS5920G-6A4G25Bi model or equivalent.

Oops!

If it's a LX.AKV0X.798 according to the link then it would be a AS5920-5A2G25Mi with the following spec: acer.co.uk/pub…451

No Blu-Ray drive.

Not sure if Acer are bringing in new models, I got the last one, of the deal below. I think its a real bargain, so much that I went back to get another one but they were gone. The 6920 I now have for the dughter Chrismas is like the starship enterprise....was going to keep it for myself...but cant, already treated myself to a Pio 5090. Maybe worth keeping an eye on Acres website....

If the cashback had been going straight into my Bank account. I would have been there. But if you have to spend it on their website, I'm not so sure:?

guys is there a way of getting digital sound out from the laptop - seems a shame that it only plays blueray and hd sound isnt a option

when you click on the link, the product description says a 50 GBP cashback is present as well? anybody knows what are T&C's for that, if anybody had done this before with cdiscounts?
any comments are greatly appreciated.
Fantastic find and definitely hot for me.

id just like to say that i bought this laptop for £500 about 2 months ago, and it is a brilliant piece of kit!!

very fast loading, multiple web pages open does not slow the system down too much and i cant recommend it enough!

great buy and a great price reduction!

hot hot hot

Acer's usually pretty bad at battery life, often around 2:30 hours. Which kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop... Any idea about what to expect from this one? Would the BluRay drive drain more power than an ordinary DVD drive?

That's the way I feel about all the recent CDiscount deals posted here. Cash can be spent anywhere, this £50 is a credit to your account that must be spent at CDiscount.

Probably a good price but am going to abstain from voting.

One of the ports on the front supports Digital out. However, the lead doesn't come withe Laptop. Also, there is HDMI Audio support, so if your Amp/Receiver supports it you could push the audio through there.

Haven't tested either and documentation isn't easy to find but I would be optimistic

Had ordered and received this one.

Spec says it had a bluetooth but infact it does not. I raised this with cdiscount who were happy to raise a 30GBP voucher to my account. Thought would help all those who bought this. Just give the cs a call and they will raise it for you after speaking to their so called head office (normally would respond in a day).
