poor spec for a refurbished product. My acer 6930g is still going strong after nearly 2 yrs tho.

Acer or Boffer? And without some explanation your comment is worthless.

Surely it's a good price for the product though right, that thing looks like a powerhouse compared to most laptops in the same price range.

Depends who "refurbished" the laptop. My experience is that unless a unit was refurbished by the maker it's not refurbished. Most of those are returned units, which will switch on alright, but still have the (latent) faults, the reasons they were returned for.

Good specs but from Boffer? I would pass on this on.

Unfortunately there was one of these for sale on Amazon for £349 ex display with full manufacturer warrantee this morning but whilst I considered it somebody else bought it so my search for a new laptop continues.

The comments on boffer's own laptop have been enough to put me off this deal but I still want a laptop with non-integrated graphics and a decent spec which doesn't cost the earth.

imo thats new price for the spec
but refurbed = cold

edit: must be a slow day in computers , number 4 and 5 hottest are both cold lol
