Sorry forgot to say the code is SCIPLAY

Very nice, quite high end for most HUKDers though so I expect it'll get cold (Yes, it's not right, but that's life)

quick look on google - seems this is usually over a grand

Thanks for posting this

If you don't mind dropping to a 2.26GHz P8400 processor you can get a similar spec for £737.37 from SimplyAcer:
simplyacer.com/Ace…tml

Their price for the Play model is £859.59 by the way.

Thanks for the comments - I also forgot to say (yesy it's one of those days lol!) that this is the cheapest price for this model Acer Aspire 6935 - 944G32BN. The closest price is laptopshop but they charge delivery and for recovery disk. I think their price works out around £890.

This is high end laptop - but if you're after one it's the best price for all the features. There is a review on Trusted Reviews website got 9/10.

The nearest competitors in the 16" screen range are HP and Dell and their laptops are a few hundred quid more! (HDX16 and Dell Studio XPS16 respectively).

kind regards to all,
Naz

With regards to Spod,
The P8400 version doesn't have the Full HD 1080p screen like this one. Also don't forget the £4.27 Quidco LOL!

Apologies - missed that! That's the problem with the Acers - there are too many similarly named products and it's easy to miss a vital spec difference.

Does anyone know what the windows experience rating is for this?

No - the closest price is SimplyAcer at £859.59 incl delivery but no recovery disk (I believe you burn your own) at simplyacer.com/Ace…tml

Probably not as high as you might expect because most laptop disks are not wonderfully quick and the Windows experience rating just tells you the lowest number of all the categories tested. This laptop will easily keep most people happy. The 9600M GT graphics card will struggle with the top end games but you won't find a top end gaming laptop at anything close to this price.

Faster than the average laptop. Probably on par with most desktop drives.

Windows rating will be around 5.2/5.3. Similar spec to my laptop

vista rating doesnt mean much at all. the whole concept was flawed last time i looked into it.

Ahhh if only this machine included a BD-RW

Which would you recommend this or the Dell XPS M1530 with BDRE?

Good deal, but no matter how good it is I just could not pay this much for an Acer!
