Is it easy to add another 8gb of ram on these ? Seems good price
it needs more v-rams
I bought this laptop from Argos a few months ago. Was a bit more expensive but I highly recommend. Minus the missing CD/DVD drive and a fairly low life battery, this is spot on for gaming, design and everyday use.
That's a really good price.

In real world terms, what's the difference between this and the Acer Nitro?

Honestly, the specs are near identical.

But since that one is a gaming laptop, it looks a little more chunky and judging from the vents at the back, probably has a much better cooling design

It also has the whole "gaming laptop" look if you like that

Yea I agree.

Also the Nitro doesn't have an SSD, so you would definitely want to buy one if you went for that.

It probably will be an issue if you're gaming for long periods. If you look at Dave2D's review of the similar Nitro and his comments about the heatpipe design on that, you'll understand why. This has a similar design where the heatpipe goes from the CPU to the GPU and then the fan, whereas separate pipes for CPU and GPU is thermally more efficient. This isn't really intended as a hardcore gaming machine though - it seems more like a multimedia laptop with gaming ability. It just means the fans are going to get loud and the CPU/GPU will probably throttle a bit as it won't be able sustain maximum CPU/GPU loads for long periods. I still think it's a pretty good deal though if you're not a hardcore gamer.

Nitro 5

Personally, I'd like to more laptops adopting a similar design to the Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501 (below) where a gap appears on the underside to assist with cooling/airflow when open the lid. That laptop runs a 1080 and is only 18mm thick!
