Does anyone think this is a good deal as i will be looking for one for myself when i have got the cash together -any advice welcome!!
I only want one for the media side of it and a bit of gaming and photo editing.

catwoman, if you're not sure that something is a good deal, it's probably better not to start a hot deal thread about it. A thread in the misc or deal requests forum would be more suitable

As emma has suggested it may be prudent to start a post asking for advice for a suitable lappy..you'll need to give a budget and exactly what you'll be using the lappy for..also if mobilty and battery life are important factors...if its just basic stuff and no gaming then I'm sure there are some good deals out there...shame all the Dell ones have now expired so there doesn't seem to be any bargains there at present...I have an Acer and am pleased with it..others may disagree so be prepared for different views.

I said i only wanted the laptop for the media side of it - tv, freeview, recording to the hd, a bit of gaming and a bit of photo editing and storing photos-thats about it really.

When you say a "bit" of gaming...what sort of games ...cos the fairly standard graphics on most laptops will struggle with the latest action games.

I would not recommend this Acer...go for a Intel Core 2 CPU...and as I said you'll need to state your max budget before I can look tosee what's available within that price limit.

I am looking to spend £600- £620 max. I won't be playing the latest action games -just things like poker , rayman,-nothing much and not that often as i have a psp2.
I looked at a Dell 9400 -160gb hd, 1.66ghz dual core, 1 gig ram ,17inch screen £609+delivery and a Acer 9303 -17 inch crystal brite screen ,120gb hd , 2 ghz 1 gig ram. £629 free delivery.
Any opinion on these -thanks

I've asked on your other post....where is the Dell you quote as I cannot see it at that price on the Dell website??
