There are probably pros and cons to both. This one has the advantage of a much longer battery life - it's described as up to 10 hours and up to 7 hours in the John Lewis listing, contradicting itself a bit.

They actually sell this in Sainsburys, so I went and had a play.

It's the slowest computer I have ever used and the track pad is dire. Screen is glossy and the resolution is naff for modern use.

I had a Dell Latitude laptop, TWELVE YEARS ago that seemed better than this.

It must have had a fault then or not set up properly, as an i3 laptop with 8GB should not be slow. As for the screen resolution, it is 1366 x 768 pixels which is pretty standard I think you'll find, especially at this price point.

tt
No, it's just slow. Look past the bs 'i3' etc crap, as there are several versions... and you realise it is only a dual core chip clocked at 1.7ghz etc in this one. Frustrating to use.

So why does it score 2468 points on cpubenchmark.net?

cpubenchmark.net/cpu…GHz

They put the processor through proper tests, whereas you "had a play in Sainsbury's".
