Most of us on this site don't want to play games @ 4k 120hz. As such this, IMHO, this is a good buy

An alternative, if you don't need the space of a 1TB disk is the Acer Swift

Same price but will feel much faster with faster CPU and solid state storage. (but only 128GB).

This isn't a good deal, you're paying more for less. Most important component of a laptop is its cpu.

Awful spec, manufacturer should have put in half the RAM, a smaller HDD and spent what little saving there was on a better processor. No point having 8GB of RAM and 1TB of HDD if your processor is appalling.

We're not just talking a normal celeron here, an i3 with a few features lopped off and the clock speed turned down. This laptop has an N-series celeron so it's a completely different chip design and substantially slower. You're looking at something 30-35% of the speed of an i3, not the 70% you'd expect from a typical Celeron.

If you're going that route then I'd be going as cheap as possible, the extra ram on a system like this is just throwing money away. Here's a random 4GB memory, 1TB storage machine with a faster version of this processor for £70 less for example:

From the link you provided the price seems to be £342.91 with Windows 7.

i.e. it comes with Operating System: FreeDOS - not Windows.

Not at all. It very much depends what you are doing.
I would argue the keyboard is the most important component on a laptop.
Cold. My OH got the otherwise-identical but N3700-based ES1-531 for £229 from Tesco in January 2016.
