Acer Aspire F 15 Laptop at Ebuyer £599 black Friday deal

This seems like a really good deal for an i5, full HD, 258ssd, GTX950M laptop, which is pretty much the spec I was looking for.
Can anyone see any obvious faults which I may be missing?

My friend bought one of these a week ago for £80 more. Had a play yesterday and really impressed. Hot from me.

this is real tempting.... but may just be too big and heavy for travel personally. Nice specs for the price though.

Oohhh do I bite or wait???

Would have been perfect if it had been £100 less. One of the few laptops I've seen with both HDD and SSD

How do Acer compare to Asus,Lenovo,HP and Dell for example?

It's much lighter than I expected. Doesn't seem to have any extra bulk that gaming laptops usually have. I don't think you'll find weight an issue.

How would this cope with some of the latest FPS games?

I think the worst thing about this is eBuyer. Still a great find.

There aren't really any reviews of this model with these specs, but I've been digging around, and it seems as though similar machines should run most FPS games well at medium, maybe 30 fps at high if they are well optimised. This seems like pretty much the perfect mid-range gaming laptop - it will blitz through older games, and probably be able to play most new releases for the next couple of years. I just want it for Civ 6, which it should handle easily - I'm giving it until my lunch break to decide whether to buy it or hope for something even better on cyber monday.

I've got an Acer laptop that I've been using for 4 years now and hardly had a problem with it

Thanks for that. I want to move away from desktop to something portable and the price range is about right

Thanks for letting me know. I have a 2014 macbook air now and want a serious upgrade spec wise as I like to edit videos so this does look good. I sometimes find the 13" a bit big on planes and to fit in my bag so the 15" puts me off a bit.

This model has the i5-7200U Intel chip, i can see that the same model with the i5-6200U chip is retailing from £649.99 upwards, so hot from me.

Managed to get £15 knocked off for Flubit, plus 11% cashback, HAWT from me.

This laptop is light but not in the league of the Mac book air. It would also be too big for a flight. Anything with a GTX under the bonnet is going to be the same.

Ordered, thank you. If only purchasing a laptop was easy lol

Just ordered, for delivery tomorrow. I can now not care about Black Friday anymore!

i agree. would've been perfect for me had it been £800 less.

I am waiting til they pay me to take it.

Are still talking about the laptop or the sellers wife?

Hi @andypolack, where's the 11% cashback from?

Hi @andypolack, where's the 11% cashback from?

It would be Quidco, site has been down since 8pm though.

Quidco is back up now.

Quidco seems to only give up to 6.6%

For Flubit it's 11% for demands.

Don't you have to pay to be an elite member for Flubit to give an offer on any online shop apart from Amazon, it keeps telling me I have to be an elite member.

Ah I see, you do a Flubit through Quidco.

Is this a good deal? It doesn't have much heat but the specs look good - makes me think I'm missing something. Do you reckon worth waiting for cyber Monday? Tempted by this as can do 0% on PayPal and think spec is good enough for it to last a while.

The problem is the price, if it was going for £300 the deal would have been expired by now cos there would be none left in stock

Do you think it is overpriced then? Says there are 140 in stock so prob good to wait to see if any offers in morning.

So far this seems like the best specification for your money, I'm surprised it doesn't have more heat.

it's between this, or the i5 6300hq laptops (which is supposed to be a better chip for gaming?):
the MSI that ebuyer are selling at the same price:
http://www.ebuyer.com/748760-msi-gl62-6qd-gaming-laptop-9s7-16j612-409

the zoostorm Argos are selling for £585 (use code: laptop10):

I ended up going for this Acer deal.

The MSI and the Zoostorm both don't have SSDs, and the MSI is only the 2gb version of the GTX 950m whilst the Zoostorm doesn't specify.

The Acer may have a slightly worse processor, but a 256gb SSD, as well as a 1tb hard drive and 4gb GTX 950M makes this a good deal to me.

It is a great laptop from all indications and the fact that it has an ssd, hdd and optical drive is very impressive. I just wish it was under £500

I don't need the graphics card as it won't be used a gaming laptop, so ideally want this specification but without the graphics card and hopefully < £500.

Would I be able to upgrade this in the future? How about the msi you linked to because I know you can on some of their models...

How would this perform for video and photo editing?

ive got the 128gb version with slightly worse chip ? for 550 a few months back...
