Is 2gb ram enough to run windows 10?

Is 2gb ram enough to run windows 10?

Minimum req is 2gb so will run ok. Ideal for kids or light everyday use.
This is a good price for what this is. I wouldn't run windows on it though. Those specs for Windows 10 will be a long way shy of usable. It is probably perfectly possible to install a lightweight Linux distro on it and that would provide a far better user experience - even just for kids.

Sorry to ask but doesn’t windows install auto I’m not techno savvy wanting something cheap for my son for browsing
Don't do it. Bought one similar specs 12 months ago. I thought that putting a 128GB SSD in it would turn this into a reasonable laptop. Still rubbish whatever you use it for - even for just light internet use. So sold it on Ebay to get some of the cash back.

Windows will be installed automatically. From a very quick google Linux can be installed on these but you need to jump through a few hoops to do so. There are threads discussing it on the Acer forums such as this one.

It all comes down to your own degree of confidence. It isn't a terribly difficult process for people who are reasonably tech savvy. I would say 4/10 for complexity. The Linux community is very helpful as well.

If you want something cheap and secure for your son I would actually veer towards a Chromebook. Something like this will give a more enjoyable and secure experience. currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

It is £149 though instead of £90

Yes, Nice IPS screen too, perfect for watching YouTube.
Chromebooks are browser based laptop, runs Chrome OS. Just like a tablet/phone with a keyboard. No chance of corrupting or breaking anything.

"It is £149 though".

Not anymore it's not. :-(

In just a handful of Day's (literally 8 Day's later), it's already shot up to £179!!. :-(

How do these people these thing's at all? - especially as it's ONLY 16GB worth of internal storage space as well??? (32GB worth of internal storage space on a Chromebook is what I'd call 'passable', but 16GB of internal storage space instead? - jokezzzzz, sorry ... )

Which LINUX Distro would you instead suggest upon, for installing on something like this?.

Ubuntu?.
Puppy?.
Zorin?.
Or ... thanx.

There are lots of lightweight distros available now. It really comes down to personal preference. In my opinion for most users a lightweight flavour of Ubuntu will be a decent choice. That means something like Lubuntu or Ubuntu MATE. LXLE is also worth looking at. Another distro to consider is ElementaryOS which is great for people coming from OSX.
