Great price, nice find wolvesinwales

Scorching hot, buy before it expires.

Hot, but Bargaincrazy suck. I bought a TV, which they've now said is out of stock, and STILL haven't given me my money back after 11 days!

Voted hot though.

Looks good and very cheap ... shame it's an Acer

Don`t need 1 either as just got the £292 Dell but at £225 how could I resist?

What have you got against Acer? always seemed well built and been very reliable for me. Biggest selling laptop brand in Germany I believe.

never buy an acer again problems after the warranty ran out with my acer,Looking on the net my 5100 has the same problems with other customers acers.Be warned:x

A lot of people have a problem with Acer, but perhaps it's just down to their usually bulky design.

had an acer flat screen lcd tv (now my monitor) and laptops and never had an issue......i think computers and things are generally down to the user as they are usually just made up of non-company branded components (i.e seagate hard drive, amd/intel processors, nvidia gfx, corsair memory) and you find its poor use or maintenance that leads to these problems in the first place....ive used many boards like pc chips and all sorts of random manufacturers and over 10 years havent had any failure apart from me spilling liquid......

Don't forget to allow for a ram upgrade in the budget.
I gb with an allowance to feed graphics isn't much.

Decent deal if one only needs a single core though.
Would consider one myself but my daughter has her eye on a 17" Dell Vostro....wouldn't mind one of them for this price :w00t:

Hot - I bought one of these for my kids 2 years ago, not had a problem. good price.

Then £6 quidco = just under £220 as posted

I would imagine these are refurbished and come with a 30 day warranty.

If thats the case i would expect them to mention it on the page !

Darn it they are now out of stock

i can only speak for myself ,i have had a problem with my acer and when i searched on line about my problem, there was many people posting the same fault as mine, surely there must be a problem with the acer brand and not the user.As for myself i take the maintenance on my computer a very high priority and look after it after spending £500.00 i didnt want to take any risks damaging it.ACER needs to look at the're laptops when they are getting the same problems reporting to them

Posted price shouldnt include quidco. tut tut.

Good deal tho

what are the problems people are having with acer laptops?

OOS! Does that mean this deal should be expired? Cant add to basket now obviously, but does anyone know from past experience if they are likely to get more stock?

HOT deal.

Does any one know the size and the weight of it?

if you do a search on Google on the acer 5100 there are many there to do with random shutdowns hard drives breaking after a few months and many others

Boxed-product Weight: 3.2 Kg

Size - not sure exactly, but fairly big right as the screen is 17"!!

Like my dell, its not so portable, more luggable!

Plus, I am pretty sure at this price it is a refurb.
Hope this helps.

I have a 6 year old Acer aspire 1300 laptop and still works as good as new. Only had to get a new battery as the original one expired a couple of years ago. Running XP pro and very capable too.

AMD sempron == SLOW

What else do you expect for £220 !?

Major problems with acer include the mouse pad and keyboard decideing when to work, battery disappears, black screen, hard drive failure , dvd rom failure ,this was on 3 laptops original one was replaced by 2 box sealed new ones all had problems within 3 months of receiving, acer customer support are a complete joke, definately a case of buyer beware.

if you knew anything about laptops you would know thats a plus!

Mine has been despatched along with a Winnie 'My First Pram' kids pram . Grand total for the two items £224 after Quidco

Anyone had their's arrive yet?

If you did... can you tell me what you received in the box with the PC? In particular, any recovery media?

I'm asking as mine had been opened - and resealed - for a security check according to the tape around the box. It's not been used, but certainly opened.

Received mine and my box was marked the same as having being opened to check serial number. All seems new inside and a set of vista discs is included in a sealed pack.

Seems a very nice laptop but have decided to sell it as i mostly use my laptop in front of TV and seems like a 17" screen in this instance is not an advantage !
