The Aspire one is great for getting things done: whether you're checking your mail, managing your online bank account or chatting with friends, the Aspire one offers a simple, intuitive Linux interface that clearly organizes everything you need to surf, work or simply have fun. The pre-installed software is separated by functions and presented in 4 distinct areas on the screen - Connect, Works, Fun and Files - that is so simple it's impossible to get confused: the easier it is to get things done, the simpler it is to enjoy life.

Ergonomics and reduced dimensions do not mean the view isn't spectacular: the Aspire one has an 8.9" CrystalBrite LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. Integrated in the top of the screen is the unique Acer CrystalEye webcam for live video streaming, video chats and conferences.

How easy would it be to install my unused retail copy of XP on this?

With regards to installing Xp onto it, there are guides on the internet how to do it. I think you can either use a USB stick or USB CD rom to do this....

hmm. i'm trying to hold out until nearer crimbo thinking these will come down in price alittle by then, fancy the one with xp already installed and the cheapest i can get is £269.00. decisions decisions

For an XP Netbook, check out the Advent 4211, which is an MSI Wind for £50 less (£80) with 1 year less warranty. Great keyboard, but average battery life and a lot less hasstle than buying this and then installing XP (which will also need a license if you are law abiding!)

I agree. Bought the Advent 4211 and think it's fantastic once the battery was upgraded.

Where did you get the 6 cell battery for the Advent 4211?
