very good price, and a great deal, however ive found all the acers to have terrible battery life, i just sold my 10 inch acer one a few days ago, battery sucked on it, had the 6 cell as well, same with my lads acer one (9") your battery will be showing as 20%, you`ll turn off and come to use next day and the battery has drained completely.

should never of sold my asus ee pc, and infact have just bought the eee 1000ha , slapped an ssd in there and battery is lasting 8 hours plus real world usage.

a very very good price though, have some heat!!!

For under £40 more (under £20 after cashback) but with a 6 cell, and N wifi (but a speaker less, and an N270)...

Of course, just READ the original post! :-(

Just had a look at the site, and the price is showing as £219.99 now. I'm assuming it's gone up and wasn't a mis-read earlier??

Price has gone up now. This was one of the netbooks I was considering but definitely won't be getting this now that its gone up to £220.

Go for an Asus EEE PC. You wont regret it, battery life and quality are amazing.

I have a 1005ha. There are a few dif models of this for whatever spec you like and upgraded my RAM by adding a £17.99 2GB

Cheaper at the BT store at only £199.00 and plenty in stock. shop.bt.com/pro…tml

This is the A150 - It has the N270 processor not the N280, nearly went for this until I realised the difference.

More importantly, this is the smaller form factor model with the 8.9" rather than 10" screen (same resolution though, so everything will be correspondingly smaller). In practice, there is no performance difference between the N270 and N280 Atoms.

I honestly do not think Samsung is a more respected brand when you are talking about the PC market.
Simply becasue Samsung is a consumer electronics brand and Acer is a proper PC manufacturer.

You may buy Samsung branded computer, but then you have to know, Samsung doesnt actually make them.

It is like back in few years ago.. All IBM notebooks were actually made by Lenovo!!!

Yes - sorry - it have been under £200 since before the weekend too - but I did not have time to post.

If you can sit it out - the newer versions of the Atom appear at the start of next year - USB 3 could appear in time for Chirstmas - the economy continues to implode...

So when the Christmas credit card bills hit the mat in February - I bet this netbook will be under £150!

I had suggest that would happen in the main post - but your price is about 60% of what I had figured upon. Its just a pity some of the 8.9 inch versions need dismantled and their warranty invalidated to up to only 1.5 gig.

Smaller screen and N270 - also - its the one with the more limited memory expansion (1.5 gig) and an assualt course to navigate through to add the stick.

Its an entirely different machine - smaller format and the memory limits mentioned above.

I would suspect most would favour Samsung - and they do have two out of three on the current PC Pro A list.

Do you own an Acer? :whistling:

There is actually.

Although the processor speed offers little difference at only about 4% - the bus runs 33% faster at 667 rather than 533 (which would be helped further by using faster memory (667/800) when upgrading to 2 gig.

samsung nc10 is a much better netbook but you can get a nc10 for £250 at comet or get john lewis to pricematch

Yeah these will all fall, But intel have already stated that next gen atom CPU is] first quarter 2010 - price will be good at Crimbo but there wont be any inventories purged.
USB3 will only appear on the next gen chipsets that accompany the upgrade ( poulson?) and intel] ain't that bothered about it anyway

Why not spend £233.97 and get a netbook with] 8.5 hours battery life ?

Better price and still £20 back from Samsung I think... and it's Amazon rather than eBuyer.

Tough choice between the Asus 1005HA and Samsung N130 from Amazon. So far, for my tastes, the 1005HA looks better.

EDIT: Should add that this Acer doesn't work for me because the 3 hour (more like 2?) battery life misses the point of netbooks. Voting hot because I've not seen this model cheaper though.

Apologies if a stupid question but how does this deal compare to the MSI Wind U100 10in Mini Laptop - Black - £199.99 @ Argos including 2 year warranty?

Battery life is more limited on the MSI Wind because of the smaller capacity 3 cell battery. It depends how important this is to you.

Robert

Thanks for the advice rwniel72. Gone for the MSI Wind - with the £10 voucher its effectively £190 & picked it up today.
