You all know what it is.

Seems to be a decent price.

I'd considered mucking about going to PC World to price-match, but they haven't any in stock around me.

I'd also seen a deal at Pixmania for a 1gb model for £217 + postage, but figured that Amazon would be better if something went wrong. Plus they weren't in stock. Cheapest delivery there was £8+

Plus I went through Quanti for a bit of cashback hopefully and paid using a cashback credit card to get the price down a touch.

I've added a direct link and an image. I've added a price and retailer name to the thread title. Thanks.

good price, though for those interested the same model is sold by john lewis for £229 but you get a 2 year guarantee.

Sorry, but when I clicked the link it took me to the one for £219.99 - very strange..............

sooner go with jl for the extra tenner.

Not a good time to be buying any of these at the moment.

There's a price drop on the way, which is already in place in the US and coming shortly in the UK. You can pre-order this one from Amazon.com (US only) for £399.95 - around £270 with VAT added to it. For that you get a better spec - plus of course the far better 6 cell battery which would cost around £60-70 just on its own.

Well worth waiting a bit if you can.

Is the RAM upgradeable on these?

Does anybody know?

Only if you take it to bits first & void your warranty...

The Ram is upgradable, but you have to take the whole laptop apart to do it, see the videos on youtube. Can't understand why they did not make an access panel under the laptop like everyone else does!.

AS a recommendation of the product, rather than the deal I hav to say this is one of the best netbooks available. I bought mine from PCworld, upgraded the ram (for a whole £15), put Vista on it and I now have a brilliant laptop replacement. The RAM upgrade is of medium difficulty, but providing you are careful with the screwdriver, there are no "voided warranty" stickers to let anyone know you have had it to bits.

Dont bother i had 1 of these and took it back next day ,RUBBISH:w00t:

newbold - my preference is for a linux netbook, with plenty enough memory etc for me, with a half decent battery life. 2-3hrs is fine for me and i dare say for a lot of other people. i've seen the bigger battery and it's ugly.

i'm happy with my purchase which, when my hukd amazon voucher and a couple of other considerations are factored in, will have cost me a shade over 200 notes.
