typical ... ordered the same one for £278 from ebuyer this afternoon ... sheesh

excellent spot tho ...

I know it comes with a bit more than the AspireRevo R3600 but at double the cost, I feel it's better to get the R3600, upgrade the memory and just hope for the best.

At this price I would I would most likely throw some more money at it and get something which didn't have an Atom processor in it (even if it's a dual core one).

Great deal but sadly it's out of stock now.

Looks cool.

Any use as a media center connected to TV?

Just buy a normal pc

Just buy a normal pc

what to fit snuggly behind the tv

It is like mini cooper with enormous wheel attached. The processor is tiny but the RAM is big.

Yet another great deal on a Revo

NOTE: Monitor NOT Included

Picture is misleading. I'd be interested if the monitor was included but way to expensive solo.
I would rather spend £140 on the single core that was posted t'other day.

I havent got a clue about computers.Could I just use this like a normal PC?I basically just do a little downloading annd play poker.Would this do the job?
Cheers in advance

Most Manufacturers sell PC's using a Monitor in their image, just so people know that what they are looking at is actually a PC, so in some ways I agree with it, but what ever you do, hopefully nobody buys pc based on picture alone?? I am in agreement with you though, as a media Centre pc the £140 one sounds favorite :-)

In response to Dirtydens. Although these PC's are very cute and use little power, to do what you want it will add up to an overpriced option for you once you have bought a monitor. If you are using your TV as a monitor, then maybe :-) Also note this PC does not come with a Cd or DVD Rom

Personally I like these PC's as they are very small and dont take any room up, and will probably buy one eventually to sit with my TV.

This has almost exactly the same specs as the netbook I plan to get (netbook has 2GB RAM and 250GB HDD) I don't think I'd buy a nettop until they improve the atom some more, for a netbook it's a great CPU, low power and low heat, neither of these need be as much of an issue on a nettop.

Great price for what it is, but I'll pass for now.

Yes, but if that is all you need then you would be better off saving money and buying one of the cheaper versions that have been posted here recently.

for a second I thought this was a notebook! the difference here between a netbook and this is the CPU, and ability to run 64 bit code. typically netbooks have only 512Kb cache memory per core. this has 1Mb so twice the capacity to load code. it's not dual core but would process code quicker than a netbook.

This is the Revo r3610, which has the Atom 330. This is a dual core processor.

With the somewhat limited processor and disk performance the sweet spot when using Windows will probably at 2GB of RAM for most users. 2GB is definitely better than 1GB, but moving to 4GB will probably not show much benefit vs the cost. Of course this will depend on the useage.
The real bonus with the Revo range is that they have the Nvidia Ion chipset which allows them to decode 1080p video. You do not need the dual-core for that.

Generally the best value is the basic £140 model. However if you need Windows or the wireless keyboard/mouse then it can be worth moving up the range according to individual requirements.

Anyone looking for something more powerful should look at something like this:

dixons.co.uk/mar…356

Its cheaper, still small and much more powerful.

You need to add on that it's a refurb and out of stock too

Would love to see someone try to vesa mount this one on to the back of their TV too :whistling:

I got the one from Maplins - its coming today.

2gb RAM & half the HDD size of this, but comes with Win7 & wireless mouse/keyboard.

Just over £200 when you use topcashback & the £20 discount voucher

Here is a little comparison spready I made regarding the Revo deals posted on here recently.

How did you get it to just over £200?
I assume that 4GB would be a waste of resources, so maybe the 2gb + 250gb HDD version is better value?

Ja, it's great! Playing sound through TV, I had some problems with DTS sound over HDMI . Using a DTS filter utility to get around this. This affects films and some games e.g. BioShock 1

You will need to install Haali media splitter if you are going to be using MKV files etc (]64-bit Haali MS), otherwise Windows Media Player will not use the ION hardware acceleration when playing your movies.

MW2 is playable tooh, woohoo!

Honest Guv, it was out of stock at the time of my post this morning! ;-)
It stated something along the lines of "Notify me when back in stock" then a lorry turned up!

just a note you will get £6.75 cashback from Topcashback / Quidco rather than £8.18 (always count the percentage before tax :p) so the total with cashback will be £265.99 rather than £264.56 (or £264.58 as OP stated)
