Obviously far from the best spec PC but I thought someone might be interested. Would do for second PC for the kids or for someone just wanting to do basic tasks. And at £99 with Windows XP installed, it's seriously cheap. Showing as in stock at the time of post.

Memery: 256MB

good find. I have too many old dinosaur PCs lying around already so this offer isnt for me.

Like you said could be great for a kid or for an old person

Don't forget delivery, £15 I believe. Cheap system , spec is just far too low though.
Was £499??? about 3 years ago maybe......

Also, not mentioned in original post, Memory: 256MB (added to original post, and spelt it wrong  )

Spec far too low? Not for £99 imo..

Show me better for £99 if anyone can

Not saying £99 isn't cheap, it is, but the spec is just too low for todays computers, 256Mb ram just isn't enough, 40GB hard drive will soon be filled.
Buy this and you will soon wish you had spent more on a higher spec.

If you want to only browse the net and little else, then ok....

"todays computers"

All depends on use.

A streamlined XP installation (all the rubbish and backround crap removed)
XP2600 can play dvds, watch youtube videos, apple movie trailers, e-mail and normal http web surfing.

As a main family/household shared home computer you're right, as a spare computer for a basic user or a basic user's main pc, it's 100% fine, with a monitor of course (of which I have 2 old CRTs doing nothing)

This is way too sweeping a statement. This is absolutely fine for anyone who's not into gaming, video editting or number crunching with vast Excel spreadsheets. I would say that that accounts for way over half of people with PCs. The main limitting factor here is the memory, but it depends entirely to what use the PC is put. Day in day out, I see people who are mis-sold the latest and greatest kit by the likes of PC World and Dixons, when in a lot of cases this simply isn't necessary for the use they will put their PC.

Rep to original poster for a fine deal!

Thanks for the link, I bought 2 (one for a friend for basic tasks & surfing the web, & one for my work. With a years warranty it's cheaper than building them and better than risking 2nd hand) and voted hot.
Agreed that 499 price is a joke but £99 is equally silly money and these are ideal for what I need.

That's going into my secretary's office - I'll add another ]512mb ram for £35 and it will be fine for her use (which seems to be non-stop solitaire ).

If you want an bit more up to date PC then you can get Refurbished one's here :

Looks as though it is now OOS

Just had an phone call from them saying that they won't be supplying, as their system took more orders than there was stock. What a crock, very disappointed with their attitude.

Par for the course with this company. You would think a company that has such a multi-million £ turnover (on target for in excess of £150 million this year) could implement a real-time stock counter on their website, wouldn't you??
