It's not a gaming laptop - it's got a single core CPU. GPU is ok, but the CPU will let it down.

The Timelines biggest selling point is the battery.

Certainly is not a gaming laptop..

A gaming laptop will cost £800+

Not only that, but it won't have a power saving single core CPU or a 4330 either

I found it within the 'gaming laptops' section on the website. They're obviously telling porkies. Glad I asked. Thanks everyone thus far.

tape a xbox 360 to a netbook - job done

If you ignore the gaming laptop malarchy, does it not look like a good spec for the price though ?

Not for a single core one, no - the going rate for these is ~£320.

In context, I got the same machine (but the Travelmate branded Acer one), but a Core 2 Duo with a 13.3" screen (same battery / CPU / GPU / RAM etc) for £349.99...

You could get a nice little i3 cpu for this price now and i am sure it would do her fine or like others said a core 2 duo. I am guessing your daughter doesn't want to max out on crysis (unlike some people that come here).

To which one? The Single core example I mentioned is admittedly a slightly lower spec (integrated GPU) - but I couldn't see a point in a dedicated GPU etc with as single core.

For my laptop, look on IT247 for the Acer 8371 (still on their home page)
