Reading the link on the Acer site it does seem to be on purchases, so a couple of days leeway.

good value

I bought one of these a week or so ago.

Very happy with it so far, but macines with a fresh install of windows always seem to fly.

I was a bit dissapointed that I couldn't use the machine in a dual monitor set up with 2 VGA monitors (because there's only one DVI and one HDMI output).

It's a small footprint machine which might be just what you need. It's DDR3 ram and can be upgraded to 8GB which I was happy about (most other machines I looked at at this price were DDR2 and restricted to 4GB).

The machine is pretty quiet.

Cheers for the mini review - this is about the right price point for me will do some digging ..

Never used Vista but hear its not great so would go for the Windows 7 upgrade

Not a bad set up IMO for the price!

Is there space for two 3.5" drives then?

Machine ordered yesterday - due tomorrow. Will post my initial thoughts soon.

Not sure about expansion drive bays.

Not opened it up, but I'm told there isn't.

There is an eSATA port though.

You guys know the PSU? May get this and upgrade the graphics card.

With 4GB of RAM I wouldn't expect that much difference TBH, I've used both a fair bit now (Home Premium in in both cases) , the user interface is very similar. For the sake of compatibility with older peripherals and SW personally I'd rather have a 32bit version than 64, but even most domestic machines seem to be packaged with 64bit.

220 Watts, so probably not ideal. It will need to be low profile card (if that's the right term) too.

is it meant to be a free upgrade to win7 by 31st Jan 2010? not 2009?

Thanks, 220 is way too low.
