Acer XC-600 i3 CPU, 8GB memory, 500GB HDD, Desktop with nvidia gt620 1gb Graphic Card and Windows 8

I have been looking for a decent branded PC with budget of £300 and this one is the best price so far, although the HDD is a bit small, but I will be fine with that. Comparing with other seller for XC-600, it is very good price for i3 with 8GB memory, as well as Windows 8.

RRP: £439.99

Ebuyer has it for £369 for 1TB HDD and 6GB Memory with integrated Intel HD card
CCL has it for £430 with 1TB HDD and 6GB Memory, Integrated Graphics

Only 5 left, more on the way.

nice pc for the money. The graphics card is entry level but fine for some basic gaming and the i3 is a great little processor. Heat

thanks, I guess the graphic card may be better than Intel HD, as many other seller only offer integrated Intel HD card.

Straight from Acer as well!

Would this be any good as an entry level gaming machine?

Bought thanks.Been wanting a non-gaming machine at this price and specs so thanks for posting.

not sure about gaming machine -- depending on what you want to play, but would be a nice home PC.

No the case is too small and the PSU probably won't be a standard size, so it has poor upgrade options. Look elsewhere.

It looks like just temporally not in stock, but maybe you can still order and Amazon will deliver once back in stock?

I have no experience for Win 8 on a desktop, but my laptop is Win 8 and it is not bad :-)

As entry level gaming machine this looks perfect.

Gaming performance will depend to a large extent on the resolution of your monitor. Or the resolution you output games to your monitor. I would buy this with an eye to playing games on myself, as I cannot see the difference between 1920 x 1080 and 1360 x 768 for example. However, as one's eyesight improves one could always upgrade by way of better performing graphics card.

great price

Hot from me.

What a marketing gimmick! (I think)

According to benchmarks the Nvidia gfx gets lower benchmark results than the integrated Intel HD4000 which the processor incorporates. Of course Nvidia allows to play PhysX games etc. but those games probably won't play too well anyhow. What a waste of silicon and power usage.

However the price is excellent!

I know what you mean in general about these entry level graphics cards becoming pointless. In this case the i3 like most desktop i3/i5 chips lacks the faster HD 4000 so has the slower HD 2500 - ark.intel.com/pro…690

So the GT620 will definitely improve the performance of this machine since the on board card is HD2500? :-) I bought it not for a gaming machine, but for a budget home PC, I believe it will do the job nicely. The AMD one is a lot cheaper than this, but not sure about that processor -- never used a AMD before.

Ah, very good point! My bad. Still, only 20-30% fps gain over integrated, so a shameful waste of resources in my book.

Ordered. Thanks for the post OP! I've been looking for a small form factor PC for the living room for ages but couldn't pull the trigger. I was wanting the Fujitsu Esprimo Q510 but it's too expensive. This price for the Acer is just irresistible!

Good PC for the moeny.
